Melody looked out the window as her mind raced with a thousand possibilities of what could have happened, of what was going to happen, each thought worse than the next. She was in disbelief at what was happening in this moment because it was something she never expected to happen. Her parents might be dying."So your grandparents are on their way over now and will try to be here as soon as they can." He said trying to get her to talk to him, just so he can know she was okay.
Levi kept his attention on the road but would look over to her every so often. He can truly say he was worried and regret saying what he did earlier.
*20 minutes earlier*
"Why are we going to the hospital now, should we wait until the morning? I don't think the speed you are going at is necessary. Maybe we should call them back before just going up there" Melody rambled on as they speeded to the hospital her parents were at, which was about an hour away. It was irritating Levi that she was not taking this as serious as she should have. Usually he understood her but at this moment he was in such a panic state that all understanding went out the window.
"Melody what the fuck is wrong with you? Your parents are in critical condition and could be about to die. You are truly worried about the wrong shit" He raised his voice at her, something he has never done till today. Melody immediately shut down and turned into her shell. She stared out the window thinking about the words he just said.
*Present*
Levi felt bad now, he thought over what he did and said, he realized that he never really did tell her what the state her parents were in nor did explain that they were told to come down as soon as possible. He knew Melody didn't think the same way everybody else did so she probably wouldn't think the worse but he is positive she is now, and he feels so bad that he brought that on her.
"Melody, I am sorry I yelled and cursed at you. I didn't have a chance to tell you what was fully going on and I apologize for assuming you would just understand. This is a serious situation and from what I know it doesn't look good so I was panicking. I'm so sorry." He meant that truly but the words just went in one ear and out the other. Her mind was to busy to acknowledge anything he was saying.
Fifteen minutes later they got to the hospital and Levi parked in the closet spot to the entrance and rushed out the car, he was about to go in but noticed Melody still sitting in the car. He groaned loudly before rushing over to her side and opening her door. She was staring down at her clasped hands with a blank look.
" Listen I know this is all shocking and you might feel slightly uncomfortable but we have to go in. I got you okay?" He assured grabbing her hand and pulling her out the car. He was extremely worried now since she wasn't pulling away or telling him to not touch her. It was like she was truly stuck at the moment and nothing was registering.
He dragged her into the hospital. The only reason he knows what's going on was because the doctors called her fathers parents who has been texting him non stop with the details, most likely because their granddaughter never keeps her phone with her. Gregory parents were currently on their jet here, trying to come as soon as possible. It was something in Levi's gut telling him they were all to late.
He let go of Melody's hand and quickly walked up to the receptionist desk.
" Hi how may I help you two lovely folks " An older dark skin woman with a strong Jamaican accent asked, looking over at Melody worriedly .
" Hi, yes we are here to see Gregory and Letoya Knight they were in a car accident and brought here, I believe they are on floor 4." He rambled out quickly to the kind women.
