Melody POV
"I do understand my personality can be to much for people. So I will try to tone it down since I am in your territory. I also will still help you, honestly I always was but I let my anger get the best of me." Prodije rambled on.
I was partially listening while also thinking about what I found in the attic.
What she was saying was very irrelevant to me at the moment. Plus I know she is only doing this because she is getting more money. I didn't even think Aunt Bri was paying her.
"I am also sorry for bumping you it was very bitchy of me." She continued on.
I listened to the nonsense that was falling out of her mouth. Nonetheless I could still use her help, but I need to keep her at a distance.
"Okay so I was thinking of what I would needed help with. I need all the information you can get on the Jones family and their addresses, I know you might not be able to get much but whatever you get is enough." I said to her.
By the look on her face she didn't seem to like that I passed over her apology. There was no reason to go deeper into though, but to keep things sort of peaceful I acknowledged it.
"I accept your apology, I do ask that you don't mess with Levi anymore though." She nodded before walking out the room swiftly.
I walked out behind her and went upstairs to the library. Once I walked in I went straight to the chair. I lifted up the cushion and grabbed the two envelopes.
I sat down it the chair and was getting ready to open it up when there was a knock on the door. I put the envelopes behind the pillow and told whoever it was to come in.
Yemoja came in with a smile on her face and two mugs in her hand.
"Hey I made us some hot cocoa." She said handing me one of the mugs and taking a seat in the other chair.
The hot chocolate had whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top of it also what I am guessing is cinnamon sprinkled on it as well.
"So I was thinking maybe we can go out just the two of us. We haven't really spent any time together and I would like to get to know you." She said before taking a sip of her hot chocolate.
I took a sip as well and was pleasantly surprised at the taste. I had chocolate milk before but this was even better.
"No I can't. I actually have to prepare for the week ahead."
"What is happening this week?" She asked curiously.
"I am going through the process of selling father's business. Since he had his hand in many different franchises, the best option would be to sell it individually rather than it as a whole." I explained.
Technically not a lie because I did have to do that but I don't plan on doing anything today, besides going over what's in those envelopes.
"Why do you call him that?"
I was confused by her abrupt question.
"Who?"
"Our dad."
"I call him father because that is what he was to me." That is what I have always called him.
"Yeah I know but you never called him dad or daddy maybe. Just father seems so impersonal." She said getting comfortable in the chair.
She is correct to say that, I wasn't very personal with my parents. I knew mor about my father but nothing to an extreme personal level.
"Doesn't really matter now that he is dead." I shrugged her off instead of getting into my issues with my parents.
