(Flashback)

Alaric went to wake up his wife happily with a kiss. That was something he loved doing, waking up the family he loves more than anything else in the world.

"It's not even 7:00 yet." A young Isobel said.

"Which means you shouldn't be awake for at least six hours"

"I hate morning people."

"Yeah well your daughter is a morning person" and just like on command comes a running Veronica .

"Mom, if dads up then so should we. Let's do something for all of us!"

"Sorry baby but I'm gonna be home late."

A sad young girl pouts to him, "ok dad, I love you!"

"I love you too!"

"Well what about me?" Isobel says Tucking herself under the sheets.

Pulling the sheets off of her face, "I love you." Ric says as he leans down to kiss her.

"Yuck do that somewhere else." Their daughter teases them.

"Oh really," he grabs his daughter and pulls her on the bed and kisses both her and his wife while they all giggle together like a happy family.

All happy endings must come to an end.

(End of flashback)

"Ronnie lets go!" The father rushes the daughter to hurry for school.

"I'm coming!"

The two head to school. Veronica keeps getting tempted to keep trying to get information out of her father, "so, have you heard from anyone?"

"About what?"

"About mom, Have you heard anything about mom?"

"Please Ron it's not even 8:00, drop it for a second will you!"

" You really expect me to drop my mother's missing person case. I mean seriously, how does anyone expect me to move on from that?" Veronica started to get angry with her father.

"I mean for a second. You're letting your life pass you by. You don't do anything you like anymore and I can't talk to you about anything anymore without you wanting some sort of clue. You're not Nancy Drew, let it go!" He raised his voice in the last sentence. He's never done that before to Veronica. Yeah he's gotten mad and upset with her like any father but raising his voice at her was different this time. It made her accept that her father moved on from her mother.

"okay. I'm sorry." That was the last thing she said to her father before they arrived at school.

"Hey Veronica , Mr. Saltzman." Jeremy Gilbert spotted the two.
