Since working on the paper together, Jeremy and Veronica have gotten very close. Spending almost every second together. Whether it was going to school together, eating at the grill or simply going to each others places and hanging out.
Today they were at the Gilbert residence. Jeremy had asked Veronica to come over and go to the grill together. Veronica gladly accepted but also noticed that the Gilbert's older sister and boyfriend, who Veronica strangely couldn't stop thinking about, would also be in the house. She found herself feeling like she needed to be extra presentable.
The two were in the Gilbert's room when they decided to head to the kitchen to get some drinks when they noticed Elena and Stefan going through some boxes at the Dinner table.
"What are you guys doing?" Jeremy asked his older sister.
"Hey guys, um just going through some stuff, feeling sentimental. Dad had this old family journal from years ago. I thought I'd dig it up." Elena answered.
"Jonathan Gilbert's journal?" Jeremy said as he sat up on the counter.
"Yeah what do you know about it?" The sister asked.
"Veronica and I just did our history report on it."
"Oh! So where is it now?"
" My dad has it. He was really interested in reading it!" Veronica said finally speaking up.
The boyfriend and girlfriend shared a look together before the other two decided to finally go to the grill.

Alaric had spent the last couple of days since he got the Gilbert journal from Jeremy, reading it front to back. Finally leaving his classroom, he made his way to the staff lounge to go a head and make copies of the journal just in case.
After making copies of every page, he grabs his things and heads back to his classroom. Sitting at his desk continuing some more work he hears a noise from the hall and goes to see what it is.
"Hello? Is someone there?" He yells out as it echoes through the school halls.
Deciding that it might be an unwanted visitor, he walks to the lounge where his things are placed in a locker, he quickly grabs his bag only to pull out a wooden stake, places it into a device then starts to quietly walk back to his classroom.
Knowing that the unknown person is now in his classroom, he stops by the door and in a quick second he turns and shoots the stake at the person only to be shocked when the person is revealed to be Stefan Salvatore. And even more shocked that Stefan caught the stake with his bare hand.
