The next morning is the same, at least that's how Veronica felt. Get up for school, eat breakfast with Ric and go to school with Ric. Except now she has a new friend.
When she gets to school the second she walks through the door, Jeremy Gilbert runs into her.
"Oh hey i meant to call you. I went through the boxes after you left and found some pretty cool things. Check it out." He handed the girl his sketchbook that he drew in this morning at home.
"Wow these are good and creepy but I don't get it." She was confused as to why she found vampire-like features on this drawings of his.
" oh i found this drawing that was in an old family journal and i redrew it in my book." The two continued talking about the journal while walking down the hall together.
"Who is that with Jeremy?" A young Bennett girl asked.
"I don't know? She looks familiar?" The other analyzed.
"Yeah she looks like you Elena! Maybe that's the new girl Caroline was talking about." The Bennet girl explained to her happily.
"She did say we resemble each other. Hey I've been meaning to ask you, how are you doing with everything?" The night before the two girls got themselves into some trouble with two boys. Vampires.
"I'm freaked out. Damon attacked me. I could be dead right now, but I'm also grateful. To Stefan, he saved my life, and....have you seen him?"
"Not since he told me he was leaving. For all I know he's already gone." She sighs as she confirms.
"He wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."
"Yea he would. He thinks he's protecting me. Clean break and all that."
"So what are you gonna do?"
"What am I supposed to do? I already begged him not to go. If I ask again, I'm being selfish. It is what it is."
"Maybe it's a good thing."
"What? Why?" The Gilbert girl questions.
"I mean what kind of future could you have had with him even if he stayed?"
Mid conversation a poster dropped right in front of them. "Promise your future" Elena assumed it was something Bonnie caused.
"Did you just-"
"No, I promise"
The Gilbert girl just walks off before Bonnie can say anymore.

Once the end of the school day ended Veronica met up with Jeremy once again. He invited her over to work on their paper together hoping to not get interrupted by their guardians again.
