After having absolutely nothing to do for the weekend, when Jeremy Gilbert asked Veronica to go to the grill and study with him she had no excuse to not go. What teenager wants to spend their Saturday studying all day? Not Veronica and she surely thought Jeremy wouldn't want too but now that he's in the clear with a lot of his teachers he suddenly wants to stay on track. Good for him Veronica thought."Ten kegs? You know how much damage we could do with ten kegs? Dukes go it all hooked up." Tyler Lockwood was playing pool at the pool table just next to where Veronica and Jeremy were sitting.
Veronica had still never talked to him since the night he made a comment about her at the school event and gotten into a fight with Jeremy right after. She didn't want to either, why would she when everyone around kept telling her he's a dick. Like all the time.
"Dukes a douche." Matt Donovan was cleaning tables near the pool table. It was a given that where ever Matt Donovan was Tyler Lockwood was being that they were best friends.
"Yeah, a douche with ten kegs. Aka, my new best friend." That comment earned a snarky laugh from Jeremy that lead to all eyes on Veronica and his table.
"What's the problem, Gilbert?" Tyler asked smirking to the two.
"Don't have one, Lockwood." Jeremy replied not even giving a glance to Tyler's way.
"Yeah, I didn't think so." Tyler went right back to his pool game before Matt spoke up, "do you ever get bored of it?"
"Of what?"
"Yourself." With that Matt then walked off to actually continue what he was at the grill for, work, leaving Veronica and Jeremy to laugh at Tyler.
"Keep laughing guys." Tyler said lastly before walking away.
"Hey Guys! Jeremy, where is Elena? I have been texting her and Bonnie all day about dukes party." A perky Caroline Forbes walked in and headed straight to were the Gilbert and Saltzman were sitting.
"Um, she went somewhere with Stefan." The brother said.
"You know I am so not gonna be one of those girls who gets a new boyfriend and disappears." Caroline whispered closely to the two at the table.
"Who's duke?" Veronica asked. She was still trying to remember everyone's names. In a small town where everyone knows everyone it's hard being new and they all just toss names around with no explanation like she's supposed to already know everything and everyone. Doesn't help that she only talked to about 4 actual people who lived in mystic falls their whole lives.
Finally looking over to Veronica, Caroline replies, "some guy who graduated a couple of years ago. And he throws a party every time he comes home from Duke."
Wait Duke goes to Duke? Was what immediately came to Veronica's head.
And if like on queue, Jeremy asks the same question Veronica asked in her head.
