Akshara was shocked to the core as she witnessed a very angry Abhimanyu speaking with someone on a call. Well more like just listening to what the other person had to say. It was nothing new really, Abhimanyu spoke very little and thus, spent most of his time listening to what the other one had to say.
What shocked her was the way his eyes had turned completely red, his lips pulled in a straight line and an angry expression on his face. He looked downright livid, scary even.
Abhimanyu cut the call and threw away the phone, breaking it into small pieces. He took a step towards her and she moved back. His anger was scaring her. The man staring back at her was a stranger, she didn't know him.
Gathering all of her courage, she took a step forward and touched his arm but was shocked and hurt when he pushed her hand away.
"Abhi…. Talk to me please." She whispered and leaned towards him.
"There's nothing left to ‘talk’, Shreya. Oh I am sorry. I meant… Akshara." He spoke coldly.
She was chilled to her bone hearing 'Akshara' from his mouth. HE KNEW! Her deepest secret was out in front of him. How hard she tried to get rid of her demons but in the end it doesn't even matter.
"Cat got your tongue Miss Akshara Raidhan? Now that I know who you really are please do tell me the reason for your presence. Another 'mission' perhaps? The target being me this time, Abhimanyu Birla– the CMO of 'vintage' and also the most successful detective."
"No…. No Abhi. I could never. You've got it all wrong. I love you Abhi…. You're my whole world. How can I do something like that to you?" Akshara said feebly with watery eyes.
It pained Abhimanyu's heart to see tears falling out of her eyes but he didn't know what to do. For the first time ever the great Abhimanyu Birla was lost. He had no idea what was going on.
"Please…" She whispered as she sank down to her knees, ready to beg if the situation arrives. She just knew only one thing — Akshara would die without Abhimanyu.
"Get up." He said, not liking the way she was literally on her knees in front of him.
The woman who can bring anyone to their knees with just one glare of hers was almost begging in front of him. There was a war going on between his heart and brain. The logical side of him knew that she could not be trusted but the sappy, lovesick part of him wanted to wrap her in his arms and never let her go.
"Please trust me Abhi. I have changed ever since I met you. YOU changed me Abhi. I'm not the same puppet controlled by Shikhar Raidhan. I have left my past behind. Please Abhi…. Please…. Just one chance. I'm begging you. Please."
Akshara started crying inconsolably by then. She fell down on the floor, not being able to support herself. She started to feel dizzy and before she could speak another word, she fainted.

After around two hours, Akshara got her consciousness back and was quiet for some time. But after that she started panicking and shouted for Abhimanyu. Her tears had no bounds it seemed. Her throat hurted as a result of her continued shouting and crying. Her chest was contracting at the mere thought of Abhimanyu abandoning her after finding out the truth.
She started throwing everything away. In her desperation she even held the fruit knife in her hand and contemplated finishing herself because she couldn't fathom a life without Abhimanyu.
"ABHI COME BACK PLEASE! I LOVE YOU ABHI…. PLEASE COME BACK!" She shouted at the top of her voice probably for the last time because Abhimanyu Birla, 'her' Abhi was never coming back. He would never accept her.
She got out of the room in a hurry and stumbled upon one of the candle holders that she threw. She felt someone pick her up and softly placed her on the bed as if she was fragile. Truth to be told, she did feel as if she was breakable. Everything inside of her felt empty and broken.
She looked up at Abhimanyu with such longing as if it's the last time she was seeing him. Witnessing Akshara's tear stained face, messed up hairs and drained expression brought a sense of melancholy to him and his eyes also teared up a little. His heart went out to her…. Once a stone-hearted girl was sitting in front of him like a small, scared child, afraid of everything around her.
"Why?" There was a lot more that he had to say, so many questions piling up in his head and everything that he felt could be summarized in just a word– why?
