"He didn't steal Cora-San's fruit... He ate it. He took the last memory I had of him. The Calm-calm fruit.... Was supposed to be mine..."
Falling into a devastating realization, Law's heart darkened with anger and remorse towards the man that was standing right in front of him.
"Hand him over, first. I'll settle things with you once we've delivered this man to Kuro."
Vergo casually spoke, as if he were in full control of Law's decisions, which is something that the Surgeon was about to prove him wrong about.
"Oh, fuck you! I'm nobody's delivery or property!!"
Before he could even speak on behalf of the Cook, Sanji left a scratch on Law's shoulder after roughly launching himself at Vergo.
Though he gave it his all, the impact of his flying kick wasn't as strong as he had hoped it would have been.
It wasn't even enough to make his enemy blink.
The bigger man remained unmoved and unharmed.
"Don't even try, this one's mine. Just stay near and leave it to me."
Law mentioned, moving his arm behind Sanji's upper chest to keep him from moving any closer towards Vergo, who was standing as tall as a pillar, just inches away from the bubble he had trapped them within.
"Sorry, but I can't hold myself back on giving this son of a bitch what he deserves. He's the reason no one ever heard Luffy's voice when he was being- Hey! Watch out!!"
In the midst of their discussion, the Culinarian pushed Law out of the way when he noticed Vergo launched himself at them, heading straight for the Surgeon's head.
Staring at him with fire running down the lower left side of his leg, Sanji raised his elbows and his foot in the air.
"Diable..."
"Room..."
Staring at each other with an undying bloodlust cast upon their faces, the Surgeon and the Cook communicated with each other through their own fighting techniques and combined them together, to make their moves more powerful.
"Mutton shot!"
"Injection shot!"
After being ambushed from above by Sanji, the Cook sent a kick hard enough to make Vergo lose his balance.
Watching him slip for a split second, Law used this to his advantage and drove his sword deeply into the man's torso.
But to his dismay, the ex-marine's armament haki was durable enough to break Law's sword, giving the Surgeon a shock.
"Shit, I let my guard down...!"
Sanji gasped after the man grabbed onto his leg with a brusque force.
"Mind if we switch places? Room... Shambles!"
Law smirked, staring down at Jean Bart as he caught Sanji in the air when the younger descended from the sky after he traded places with him.
"Wait! But-"
"Don't worry, our Captain's gonna be alright. Have a little faith in him."
Jean Bart chuckled, running off with Sanji to get him to a safer place, all the while fighting off the intruders that had invaded the Submarine.
Sanji lowered his head, feeling bitter about not being able to continue fighting, but most of all... For how weak and feeble he felt as he was carried in the bigger man's arms.
"This is humiliating..." He shamefully admitted.
"Being humiliated is better than winding up dead, don't you think so?"
Jean Bart questioned through a serious facial expression.
"I've swallowed my pride long enough. I rather swallow my own blood than to be taken away like some kind of princess that needs rescuing!"
"Cool it! Stop squirming around too much, you already ought to be bleeding enough as is, dumbass!" The older man scoffed.
"I feel totally fine, now! Let me go, you big ape!"
"Zip it, rude brat. You're worse than handling one of these goons!"
Jean Bart responded while ironically beating down a group of Kuro's subordinates that were breaking into the submarine and setting off grenades underneath the vessel to make it harder for everyone else to fight inside of it.
"These... Damn..... Explosions..! Ngh!"
The man's eyes widened when he realized that Sanji had escaped from his arms after he fell to the floor.
"Somebody.. Catch Blackfoot!! Urgh... Damn it all.."
"Captain!! Captain!!" Jean Bart heard Bepo's voice echoing from nearby.
He then noticed the Polar Bear making a drastic turn to run towards the area he was in.
"Jean Bart!? Are you okay?"
Nodding at him while standing back up, Jean Bart thanked Bepo for helping him stand.
"Blackfoot ran away.. I don't understand how or why. With his condition... He's going to reopen his stitches and give himself and our Captain a hard time.. Ngh.. My head.."
The man sighed heavily, holding the sides of his head as it spun continuously.
"But even so, he won't be able to get far that way!"
Regaining his strength, the older man ran off to search for Sanji, trusting that he would be able to find him before the enemies would.
~Meanwhile~
"Captain!"
"Bepo? What about Mugiwara-ya!? You-"
Law's eyes screwed shut as he was impaled by a solid punch to the stomach by Vergo.
"Room... Tact!"
Having a partial effect on Vergo's body, Law ceased this opportunity to get closer to the older man and stood over him, waving his sword in the air.
Watching blood pouring out of Vergo's mouth when being slammed against the floor, the Surgeon leaned closely to the older man's face as a shot of electricity ran throughout his cursed Kikoku katana.
"Cora-San's devil fruit won't go to waste with a peasant like you. I'll make sure it respawns right into my hands when I'm done dissecting you."
Vergo's sunglasses slipped off of his face and cracked while landing beside him as he watched the Surgeon hovering above his defeated body.
"Room... Radio Knife."
Sending a thousand bolts of electricity throughout the man's system, Law cut him in half and left him completely paralyzed as he witnessed his torso being detached from the rest of his upper body.
Grasping the damage he had done to the man, the Surgeon felt neither satisfaction or guilt.
He wasn't proud of what he had done, but he didn't regret killing the man either.
What he could feel, was an agglomeration of pent up anger slowly draining out of him, much like the blood that now spilled out of Vergo's lifeless form as he bled out every last cell, within him.
"Serves you right..."
Hunching over for a second, Law found himself using Bepo to balance himself upright.
"Where's Blackfoot-ya?" Was the first inquiry that he made, staring up at his first mate.
"Jean Bart is searching for him right now, Captain! He shouldn't have gone too far."
The Polar Bear responded, rushing down the Operating Room with Law, after the Surgeon told him that he spotted a strange activity happening from behind the closed double doors.
"There's an orange light illuminating the room from the inside."
