~Two Days Later~
"Okay, are we ready to get these off yet?"
A Surgeon playfully questioned, smiling at Luffy's reaction when the boy nodded immediately at him.
The idea of no longer having to bare with the weight of the heavy cast that was around his hips was something that restored the hope that he had lost for quite a long time.
"Do I get to go back to the Sunny when these come off?"
The young Captain questioned with excitement as he noticed Law reach for something.
"We'll see. I know I said that you would get to go home in two days, but it might take a little bit longer now, since that minor setback that you had."
Upon mentioning this, Luffy frowned a bit, but decided to not be too upset about his potential prolonged stay in the older man's submarine.
"What's that?"
He asked, peeking his head over his cast to find the Surgeon walking towards him with a large, round cast saw.
"Oh, it's to cut off your cast. So, make sure you stay as still as possible."
Luffy started to sweat profusely when he noticed that the small yet dangerous looking object was aiming at his midsection.
"EH!? You're gonna cut my legs off!??" He screeched.
"Oh, did we come at a bad time?" Bepo asked, poking his head into the room with Sanji.
"Not at all. I'd say you came just in time! Take a seat, if you'd like."
Law spoke, offering Sanji a seat right beside Luffy.
"SANJI, HE'S GONNA LEAVE ME CRIPPLED!"
The brunette nervously cried out, sounding rather comedic, though he was scared out of his wits, in reality.
"Correction: I'm trying to 'uncripple' you. But if you want, I could leave you like this for another week. Your expectations of leaving this room will be postponed, however."
The Surgeon finalized, leaving Luffy with no other choice other than to accept his help.
"Alright! I'm ready!"
"Here I go."
Staring down at the saw as Law got closer to his leg with it, Luffy's confidence levels went down, and his pressure started to rise.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait! Countdown, at least!"
"This will hardly even take two minutes, Mugiwara-ya."
The Surgeon informed the younger man.
"Still! Please, do it!"
Unable to agree with his opinion, Luffy grew tense.
It was then that he looked over to his right to find someone holding onto his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Sanji?"
He asked himself, finding a glint of hope through his friend's smile.
"I'll countdown with you. Go on. One..."
Taking in a deep breath, the awestricken Captain fell silent for a second, finding comfort in Sanji's reassuring words.
"Two... T-three..."
Feeling the pressure of the vibrating cast saw slicing through the thick layers of his cast, Luffy clenched his jaw and shut his eyes.
"Four, five- Don't move, Luffy! Count with me."
