Minecraft: Before The Player's Journey

Chapter XVII - Redstonia

Minutes later, they have arrived in the Kingdom of Redstonia.
 
Eren said, "I'd present to you the Kingdom of Redstonia!"
 
Everyone gasps as they see that the kingdom is beautiful and full of Redstone.
 
Kris questions Eren while his eyes are in awe of Eren's homeland: "Is this why the kingdom is named Redstonia, Eren? Because look at the contraptions they've built!"
 
Eren replied, "It is true that this kingdom is named after the discovery of Redstone discovered many years ago when King Abstammung discovered a mineral that can power any circuit."
 
He then said, "So, where are you guys going to stay?"
 
Frieren replied, "We want to stay in an inn." 
 
She then asked, "Do you guys agree with me?" She looked at Kris and Stein.
 
Kris nodded, and Stein replied, "I agree with your decision, Frieren."
 
Eren smiled and said, "Very well then! I would show you people a perfect inn to stay in."
 
As the cart went into the roundabout, they saw an obsidian portal frame.
 
Brennen questioned Eren, "What's that obsidian frame in the center of the roundabout, Eren?"
 
"Oh, it's just that there's so-called a second dimension," said Eren, who's also curious, including Frieren, Stein, and Kris.
 
The cart turned into a street, and Eren stopped it. "So... what do you guys think?"
 
Everyone's eyes looked at the sign and loved the hotel's design.
 
Stein said, "That looks like a very fancy inn."
 
Kris replied, "It sure does..."
 
Frieren said, "This is more than just a regular hotel inn."
 
Then Brennen suddenly had the urge to go in, take his luggage, and rush into the lobby.
 
"Wait! Brennen!" Frieren followed her brother.
 
Stein, Kris, and Eren also brought their luggage and walked inside the lobby.
 
As Frieren chased her brother, she jumped on him and captured him. "Don't cause a scene, Brennen. We're in a public place.".
 
Brennen gave up and said, "Alright, sis..."
 
Frieren then helped her brother get up, and Eren got a slight chuckle and said to them, "You two are very chaotic siblings."
 
Frieren replied, "Yeah, sometimes we fight unnecessarily."
 
Kris then showed a key and said, "Guys, I booked a room for all of you and me."
 
Frieren, Brennen, Eren, and Stein followed Kris, but Stein carried too much stuff.
 
"Guys! My inventory is almost full, and I can't hold it much longer!" Stein struggled to carry everyone's luggage.
 
"There we are! Room sixteen." Kris then opens the door.
 
"Whoa!" Brennen was so surprised that the room was filled with four red beds, a huge closet, a decent bathroom, and a hint of decorations to make the room spectacular.
 
Stein suddenly gets out of balance and tries to control it. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! AHH!!" The luggage fell and covered Stein.
 
"Um, a little help!?" He asked everyone to pull him out.
 
Everyone pulls Stein out of the pile of luggage, and Stein rests on the bed while everyone is unpacking their items. Kris looked outside the window, seeing that the sun was about to set.
 
"You guys want room service food?" Kris asked everyone.
 
Everyone nodded, and Kris went to the lobby and ordered room service food for dinner. Minutes later, he comes back with the food.
 
"Okay, I'm back, and, uh, where are you going, Eren?" Kris questioned Eren.
 
"I have my own home," Eren replied.
 
Kris realized, "Oh, right! You live here and... have your own home."
 
"Well, I think it's the time I'll leave." Eren packed his things.
 
"Farväl grabbar!" He then left.
 
Stein got confused. "Uh, what did he say?"
 
"He said, "Farewell, fellas." In Swedish," said Frieren.
 
Kris then tells everyone, "I know you guys and I are hungry, so let's dig in!"
 
He then opens the lid and reveals very, very delicious food. We're talking about fancy roast chicken, grilled fish, bread, and baked potatoes. Everyone's mouths began to water, and they shared the food.
 
"Mhmm! This is so good!" said Stein while eating the grilled fish.
 
"Bread," said Frieren, who took a huge bite.
 
Brennen licks his fingers and says, "This chicken tastes delicious!" He then continues to eat.
 
Kris then smiled and said, "I'm glad that everyone is here." He looked down on his food and ate it.
 
Silence fills the room while everyone is eating. They very much enjoy the food that they eat, and a couple of minutes later, they all wash it down with water, except for Stein, who's drinking wine.
 
Kris decided to take a quick half-bath in the washroom and went out after five minutes.
 
"You know, you guys should take a bath because we were in a muddy swamp earlier this morning."
 
Kris notices everyone is already in bed. He whispered, "Oh, I forgot that they're asleep."
 
He then wears his sleeping suit, lays down on the bed, and tucks in the blankets. He then looks out the window, seeing the moon shine above him, and thinks to himself, What was the reason the Dark Witch killed his mother? He couldn't sleep and tried to find a solution. He goes out to the balcony, looking at the moon.
 
"You got something on your mind lately?"
 
Kris turns around and looks up to see Eren on the rooftop, looking down at him.
 
"Eren? How did you?"
 
Eren chuckles. "Come on, climb here, and we'll have a chat."
 
Kris climbs the wall, reaches the rooftop, and sits next to him.
 
"Is something bothering you, Kris?" Eren looked at Kris and suddenly got worried.
 
Kris looked down and said, "Yeah, it's about the death of my mother."
 
Eren was surprised. "Your mother? What was the cause?"
 
"A witch sent a creeper to kill her, but what was the reason for it?"
 
Eren gets empathic. "I feel your words, Kris, and I think fate did it."
 
"Yeah, I guess my fate has a bad start," said Kris.
 
Silence fills the room for a few seconds until Eren asks, "Do you have a father?"
 
Kris replied, "Yeah, I do have a father. He's doing his duty as a king."
 
Eren slightly smiled. "You're a very lucky person, Kris. As for me, I don't have any parents at all, but you? You're the heir of Grozav."
 
Kris then looked up to the moon and said, "Maybe fate turns us into us."
 
Eren also looked at the moon and said, "Your words are very interesting, Kris. Maybe fate is what makes us who we are now."
 
They talked for hours and ended their conversation at midnight. Kris climbs down and goes back to sleep, while Eren jumps from building to building. The next day, everyone wakes up feeling energized, except Frieren. Brennen peeked his head next to Frieren's bed and whispered in her ear.
 
"Sis', could you wake up?"
 
His sister didn't respond and suddenly pouted. He then looks at the clock and sees that it's almost noon.
 
"Ugh. Why do I have to do this?"
 
He then shook her and screamed.
 
"WAKE!! UP!!"
 
"AHHH!! I'm awake!" said Frieren, jumping out of bed.
 
Brennen pouts, "It's ten o'clock in the morning, and it's almost noon.".
 
Frieren was shocked and asked him sheepishly, "Uh, did I skip breakfast?"
 
"Yeah, you were asleep while Kris, Stein, and I ate breakfast; Stein went to the church, and Kris is outside helping people," said Brennen.
 
Frieren said, "Oh, I guess I have to get dressed."
 
"I'll wait for you, sis'." 
 
Brennen patiently waits for his sister to take a bath and get dressed. After that, they went out of the inn and went to a cafe.
 
Frieren asked, "You hungry, Brennen?"
 
"Hmm, I am full, but those pastries looked delicious," said Brennen.
 
Frieren buys coffee and long bread for herself, and hot chocolate and croissants for Brennen. They ate their meals and went out. As they walked, they saw a huge library with intricate designs and very beautiful stone-carved statues.
 
"The Grand Redstone Library... It just looks like an old fancy library," said Frieren.
 
Brennen said, "But it's even bigger than our library in Zauberhaft."
 
"You want to learn the mysterious mechanics of Redstone? Because I'm also curious about it," Frieren asks her brother.
 
Brennen nods, "Yeah! Let's go in!"
 
They both go inside the library, and it's different than they'd expected. They expect a very quiet library, but instead, it's a library where inventors meet and build together. So many people are building Redstone mechanics in the library while they write, research, and perform equations.
 
"This is different than I'd expected," said Frieren.
 
Brennen replied, "Yeah, it does. But we could try and build a simple machine."
 
"Yeah, let's learn it together, lil' bro'!" Frieren smiled.
 
Meanwhile, in the church where Stein is, he attends a mass, and after the mass ends, a fellow young priest comes to him and says,
 
"Do you come from Hüter?"
 
Stein replied, "Yes, I came from Hüter. Why would you ask me about that?"
 
The young priest replied, "You see, I'm also from Hüter, and could you help me help the sick? And also teach me the ways; you look like you're an experienced priest."
 
"Oh, sure, I would help the sick."
 
Stein smiled, and he and the young priest went to the ward from the back of the church.
 
Meanwhile, Kris is outside in the streets, helping people. He helped the old people cross the street, stopped the thieves, rescued animals that were big and small, and finally, he sat on the bench, looking at the horizon.
 
"What a day! I've done my duties."
 
He then let out a huge sigh of relief. Out of the blue, Brennen spooked Kris' behind.
 
"AHH!!"
 
Brennen giggles, "Got 'em'!"
 
"Hehe, I thought you said you were not scared of anything," Frieren smirked and sat next to Kris.
 
Stein then walks to them and sits next to them. "So, what did you guys do earlier?"
 
"Oh, I'm just helping people," said Kris.
 
Brennen replied to Stein, "Sis' and I learned and built new Redstone circuits. Like this!"
 
He then pulls out a small light circuit, "See?"
 
"Whoa! That made me impressed." Stein then smiled.
 
Frieren asked, "What did you do earlier, Stein?"
 
Stein replied, "I helped people who are sick in the churchward."
 
"Well, I guess we did a great job today!" said Kris.
 
Meanwhile, in the Urwald, known as the Land of Giant Nature, Evoke went to a sacred stone temple where the giants were asleep. He then wakes them up and gives them a deal. He said to the giants that he'd give them a very big fortune, power, and wealth if they followed his command as a leader. The giants agreed to his decision, and Evoke then boosted the giants's strength and commanded them to go to Redstonia to trample the lands.
 
The giants followed their orders; one giant put Evoke on their shoulder, and all the giants began to walk towards Redstonia. As the giants walk, the giant trees get trampled, and all living beings that live underground get crushed. Evoke laughs maniacally that he will finally avenge his wife, and the villages that are in the way of the giants get crumpled to bits. His laughs become more and more strong as he sees the bloodbath of small societies.
 
"I'll destroy all humanity with my army!"
 
Meanwhile, in Redstonia, Kris, Stein, Frieren, and Brennen went back to the inn to get some sleep. They all switched their clothes for the night and went to bed, except for Kris. He went to the balcony to get some fresh air until Eren called him, who was on a rooftop.
 
"Kris, let me talk for you, and I think it's an emergency."
 
Kris climbs the walls, reaches the rooftop, and sits next to him. "What do you mean that there's an emergency?"
 
"You see when I was on a hunt for animals, I heard a loud thump on the ground. Then, I pillared up using dirt, and I saw giants coming," said Eren, who was worried.
 
"Hold on a second, Giants!?" Kris was shocked.
