Chapter VIII - Rest

As the Wither went to the north, where the king went, it destroyed anything in its path. The living beings who were shot under the Wither's skull projectile began to wither. And as they die of withering, a withering rose will sprout on their dead bodies.
 
Now let's go back and narrate at the desert village. The next day, Brennen woke up and felt better than yesterday. He then noticed his sister laying her head on his lap as she was sleeping. Then Brennen tried to wake her sister.
 
Brennen: Sis'...
 
He looked at his surroundings and tried to process what happened yesterday, and he didn't know how he got here inside a sandstone house.
 
Brennen: Sis'! Could you wake up?
 
Frieren opened her eyes and was shocked to see that her brother was alive and had survived a deadly spell. She then broke down her tears and hugged his brother.
 
Frieren: I thought I lost you, Brennen!
 
After Frieren said those words, his brother hugged her back.
 
Brennen: It's okay, sis'. I'm still alive.
 
Brennen looked at his surroundings.
 
Brennen: Where are we, sis'?
 
Frieren: We're in a desert village, Brennen. I was so worried about you yesterday, but now I'm glad that you're okay.
 
Brennen: Then why are we here in the first place?
 
Frieren: Stein and Eren are shopping to buy food, so we have enough food to travel to Redstonia.
 
Brennen: Redstonia? Wait a second... We could visit their redstone inventions there!
 
Frieren: Yes, and we should also stay in that kingdom forever.
 
Brennen: Forever? Why?
 
Frieren's face became a bit worried, but she sighed and told him.
 
Frieren: Do you remember yesterday?
 
Brennen: No.
 
Frieren: You see... A monster destroyed Grozav, and um... We will stay at Redstonia because it has a barrier that would protect us from hostile mobs.
 
Brennen: Oh... So that's what happened yesterday.
 
A few seconds of silence filled the room until Eren and Stein came back with supplies.
 
Eren: We are back, Frieren! And, oh my...
 
Eren gasps and drops a chest filled with food, and it hits Stein's feet.
 
Stein: OOOW!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!
 
Eren then apologizes and lifts the chest.
 
Eren: Sorry, I was shocked that our little vanguard is okay.
 
Brennen got a bit mad when Eren said it.
 
Brennen: I'm not a little vanguard! I'm a big boy, Vanguard!
 
Stein chuckled a bit and said this to Brennen.
 
Stein: How are you feeling today, Brennen?
 
Brennen: I feel normal.
 
Stein looked at Brennen's face and saw that it was full of cracks.
 
Stein: Hmm, you survived, but there are scars on your face, Brennen.
 
Brennen: Scars? Oh boy! I hope it looks cool! Hand me the mirror, sis'!
 
Frieren's face got a bit worried that Brennen wouldn't like his scarred face, but she then sighed and gave her mirror to his brother.
 
Frieren: There.
 
Brennen looked in the mirror and gasped in excitement.
 
Brennen: WHOA!! These cracks in my eyes looked so cool!
 
Frieren got a bit mad and said to him.
 
Frieren: Don't you dare say "whoa," thinking that your scars are cool! I had to watch you while you slept, and you were under a spell!
 
Brennen's face got a bit sad about Frieren's emotions.
 
Brennen: I'm sorry, sis'. I... I didn't mean to get excited.
 
Frieren then sighs and accepts his apology.
 
Frieren: It's okay; as long as you're alive or hurt, I'll always be with you.
 
Eren: Guys, we better get going.
 
Frieren: Oh, right, we better get going. Brennen, can you stand up?
 
Brennen goes off the bed and tries to stand up, and then he walks.
 
Brennen: I can still stand and walk, sis'.
 
Frieren smiled softly and said that his brother was fully cured.
 
Frieren: We better get going, lil' bro'.
 
Brennen, Frieren, Stein, and Eren went outside the sandstone house and saw that the king and Stark were waiting outside.
 
Stark: Thank goodness that the vanguard is alive.
 
Brennen looked at his surroundings and saw a temple that was fully built. He then asked his older sister.
 
Brennen: What's that temple for?
 
Frieren: It is a place to worship their god. Now, we better get going.
 
Brennen: Right!
 
But when they started to get into the cart, a loud explosion came from a distance. The locals got worried and looked at where the explosion came from. Everyone saw that it was the Wither coming towards their home. The villagers begin to hide at the temple until a hooded person goes head-on with the wither. The hooded person fought the Wither so valiantly that they used only their iron sword. Suddenly, they hissed towards the wither and exploded. Could this be the Great Brawly Creeper himself?
 
After he exploded, he lost his arm; presumably, he combusted it and exploded it. What was left in his arms were bones until suddenly it healed back like an axolotl losing an arm, but it healed much faster. He kept pouncing at the Wither, exploding each part of his body, then healing it. When the Wither's health loses one-fourth of its value, it then heals itself by combusting soul-fire energy from Kris, which loses more of Kris' humanity.
 
It brought the Wither's health back to full and exploded. Brawly Creeper was blown away by the Wither's explosion and left the town in ruins. The desert temple survived the explosion, and it was covered in sand. The villagers are trapped in the temple, leaving them to rot inside, trying to survive with the rations they have collected. Brawly Creeper couldn't go back up because his legs were stuck inside the boulder.
 
Brawly Creeper: I think this is the end. Hehe...
 
Brennen looked at her sister and said to her.
 
Brennen: We should help him!
 
Frieren nodded and told everyone to help Brawly Creeper. They began to lift the boulder and take him inside the wagon. Brawly Creeper looks at his town being destroyed by the Wither. He knew that his people were trapped inside the temple and left to rot, and he told himself this.
 
Brawly Creeper: I think it is time for our village to fall now, Father.
