Chapter XIX - Continue?

A short recap of Chapter XII, Everyone was shocked to see that the heir of King James was a zombie. The scientists started working on a cure while King James and Prince Alexander observed. They tried using golden apples but it didn't work. Frieren then tinkers with a weakness potion and finally cures the zombies. However, Dr. Evoke revealed himself to be a traitor and released a hoard of zombies. The survivors escaped through an emergency exit and Frieren realized her brother and friends were still in the kingdom. She rushed back to warn them urged them to leave, and sacrificed her life just to save her brother and her friends.

In the Ice Spike Biome, where Redstonia has fallen, Dr. Evoke or he's now called Evoke, looked at his surroundings.

"Keep searching, my plagued army, and keep spreading the disease," said Evoke.

As his army spreads, he sees a floating withered skeleton monster with three heads and realizes it's the Wither.

"Everyone, I think we've had enough of infecting this place," said Evoke

The zombies have traveled vast areas of the Ice Spike Biome, and they spread everywhere. They invaded the small urban villages, pillaged their homes, and infected the uninfected. Meanwhile, Stein, Eren, Brennen, Stark, and King Alexander left the Ice Spike Biome and went east. Brennen looked down and looked at the box his sister, Frieren, gave him.

"Why, just... why?" He then shed tears.

Eren sat next to Brennen and said, "That must've been so hard that you lost your sister, Brennen."

"Yeah, I can not believe that she sacrificed herself just to save us..." said Brennen, whose eyes were full of sadness.

Stark, who's controlling the cart asked King Alexander, "Your majesty, where should we head?"

To which the king replied, "Hmm, I think we should head to Hüter."

Stein replied to the king, "You are right, my homeland is the farthest among the five kingdoms, and its defenses can kill those zombies who are spreading."

"Wait, could you please go to Zauberhaft first?" said Brennen.

Stark replied, "Alright, we'll visit to Zauberhaft then to Hüter."

They traveled for hours until they arrived in Zauberhaft. They had passed the ring of the Mesa, Brennen got off the cart and went to the town hall.

Chief Lau turned around and saw his son had come back and said, "Brennen! You're back!"

Brennen hugged his father crying and didn't say a thing to his father.

"What happened, Brennen? Where's your sister Frieren?" Chief Lau asked.

To which Brennen replied while crying, "She... she... she... sacrificed her life just to save me, father..."

"She died!? What was the cause!?" Chief Lau was shocked.

"She... she... used all her magic to kill the zombies..." said Brennen, who kept crying at his father.

Chief Lau hugged his son, Brennen, and shed his tears. "She was the only sister who could take care of you, Brennen. I just can't bear it, Brennen!"

They both cried mourning of Frieren.

"First, it was your mother who died, and now your sister! Why does fate have to be so unfair?" said Chief Lau, then cried.

Stein and Eren catch up to Brennen.

"Oh my, Eren, I think we should leave them alone for a while," said Stein.

"Yeah..." Eren replied.

"Halt, I need to talk to you two." Chief Lau stopped both of them.

"What do you want to talk about us, chief?" said Stein.
