Chapter XXIX - Hopes

In Mushroom Island, Brennen feels lonely after surviving on his own for many months, he looks at the sunset and sighs, "I guess that nobody is looking after me, I'm stranded, and all alone," he cries while the waves tumble towards the shorelines and made him feel nostalgia. "I hope my father and my friends are safe out there..." He said and hugged his knees. Then, the skies began to darken, and he went back home. He cooked a pot of mushroom stew just to feed himself, and he ate dinner to fill his empty stomach. Finally, he went inside his bedroom to get some rest.

Suddenly, Brennen woke up in the Aether, and a voice called him, "Brennen? Brennen! Wake up." "Is that you, Creator?" Brennen asked and the voice replied, "Yes, but call me Notch.". "Why did you bring me here?" He asked and Notch replied, "I called you because I have a mission for you to accomplish. I need you to vanquish Die Verdorren." Brennen's eyes widened and remembered the past, "No! No! No! Notch! You cannot be serious! You know what happened to Grozav! He killed everything!" "I am serious, and I chose you because you are close to him," Notch replied. "What!? I never knew who he was?" Brennen asked and Notch replied, "Do you remember when you looked at Die Verdorren's eyes? What did you see? And who was the person behind it?" Brennen replied, "Kris? Kris... Wait! You say that the Wither is Kris!?" "That is correct, your friend Kris is Die Verdorren," Notch replied and Brennen was surprised at the revelation.

Brennen asked, "Why did you choose me to kill him? I saw the explosion and it was powerful." And Notch replied, "I chose you because of your skills of survival and you're close to him. Despite the Die Verdorren is full of wickedness on the outside, and inside, there's a person calling your name, needing to cross the bridge of the afterlife. Kris needs you, Brennen." Brennen looked down whether he would accept or not, "Kris... You were my friend... But we lost you and you were corrupted by the Nether's Curse..." He pulled out his flaming ax and burned brighter than before. He was full of DETERMINATION, and he will save his last friend, "Alright, we were once a team and we lost our friends, now, you're the only one I can SAVE you... I'm in Notch." Notch smiled that Brennen agreed to defeat the Wither, and Brennen jumped off the islands of Aether to be sent back to the Overworld.

Meanwhile, in Utmärkt, the war continues, "Sir! Our army has gone low because of the Wither and Evoke's army!" The soldier shouted and the general replied, "Do not give up our hope! Someone will save us!". A Vindicator called Evoke, "Master! We're gaining and they're starting to lose!" "Hehe, I knew making loud noises would make the Wither aggravated, and it targeted the Zauberhaftian soldiers!" Evoke replied and laughed at the soldiers of Zauberhaft slowly withering from the Wither's attacks.

One of the soldiers was inflicted by the Wither and said to the general, "Sir, we are slowly running out of people... And..." He then opened his heart locket and inside was a painting of his family, "I hope my family is safe..." He finally turned into ashes and his fellow soldiers screamed and terrified. As they are about to lose hope, Chief Lau, alongside his soldiers comes, "For Zauberhaft and Utmärkt! For our people! Sacrifice for the people of our nation with all of your heart! Ge ditt hjärta!" The people of Utmärkt became determined and fought for their country alongside the Chief of Zauberhaft and his men.

Meanwhile, in the mushroom island, Brennen is determined to sail out and leave the place for good. He sailed south and kept rowing. As he kept rowing, a thunderstorm came, and the waves started to get wild. Brennen kept going while the thunders roared, and he would never give up. "Must get back to my home! I must never give up! My father said to give all of my heart to accomplish my mission!" He exclaimed.

Back in Zauberhaft, it also rained, the Zauberhaftian soldiers were determined and fought the Illagers with all of their heart. Evoke saw his army slowly going down, "Ugh! Keep going! And keep attacking! I'll call my undead army." He left the battlefield by riding his steed and went to the Dark Oak Forests to get reinforcements. Meanwhile, in the Woodland Mansion, "Two cards left and I'll win this game," said Zombie, and a skeleton drew out a draw-four-card card to the discard pile. "AHH!! I WILL KILL YOU CALCIUM!!" Right when Zombie is about to punch Skeleton, Evoke barges the door and says, "Everyone! We have a war going on! I need you because of reinforcements!" He panted heavily. Zombie then let go of Skeleton and replied, "Alright, boss. Everyone! Let us do what the boss has said! Come on! Let's go!" Then, every undead and creepy crawlies creature gets up and marches towards Zauberhaft.
