(6) Calling It Quits&Relocating

Two Yrs Later,

"Robert I need to talk to you.." Whitney said as she gave the kids their dinner plates 

"I know I got your text earlier..but I had class and I had to finish a paper." He said when he saw that it was almost 7. 

She looked down, "Lets just eat dinner.." she said as she sat down to eat. 

After she got the kids in bed, she began to clean up the kitchen. He came into the kitchen 

"You said you needed to talk.." he said as he turned her around. 

"Do you love me any more? Or is there someone else?" She said 

"Whitney? How could you think that? I have loved you since middle school." He said 

"Because it feels like you don't love me. You are never home you are to tired for me or you make me feel alone. When I try to express any of this you get upset with me." She said 

"Whitney baby..I do love you. We are juggling a lot on top of medical/law school." He said 

"I'm fine..I make time to study that doesn't include giving up my time with you or the kids. You don't...and I get looks at the doctors all the time cause I have all three of them. I schedule them when I know you don't have class and you still don't show up for me. We haven't had sex in two years..Everytime I try to you say you are tired or busy with homework." She said 

"Whit what are you saying I have to.." he said as he realized she was right. 

"Have homework? This is my point..I do my best to make time and you could careless. Maybe it's time for us to call it quits. This isn't how I pictured our life together Robert." She said 

"Whitney don't say that..I love you baby you know that." He said 

"Robert..you may love me but you aren't in love with me.' she said and walked away. 

The next day in between classes Whitney filed for divorce, and had her mom help her make moves to move to Georgia where her parents had recently retired to. A few days later Robert got the papers. When he got home he saw her packing. 

"What are you doing? if this is what you want Whit then I will move out you need the rooms." He said 

"I'm not staying here, me and the kids are going to Georgia where my parents are. That way the sting of my broken heart will hurt ajttle less." She said 

"Whit we don't have to do this." He said as he held her face. 

"I do..I'm not happy." She said 

A few days later Whitney and Robert went their separate ways, tears were shed and goodbyes were said. Robert cried over a bottle a of jack..as he sat in quiet empty apartment. 

A few days after they got settled into their new house in Georgia, Whitney and the kids had dinner Oliver and Estelle's house with a good home cooked southern dinner and peach tea. Whitney also got her credits transferred to Emory Medical School.
