1 month later,
Billie Ann was hanging out with her cousin Dottie and the girls after school. Bucky drove over to her house to see Robert and Whitney.
When he knocked on the door Robert answered.
"Baby J..what's up?" Robert said as he let him in.
"Little J you know that Billie Ann isn't here she's out with the girls." Whitney said from the living room.
"Oh I know. I came to talk to you two." He said
Whitney carefully sat up on the couch as Bucky followed Robert into the living room.
"How's chemo going Whitney?" He said as he took a seat on the other couch.
"It's draining.." she said
"Is there something you needed?" Robert said
"Um, well I-I um..I would like um to take Billie Ann on a date. I wanted to know if that would be ok with you two." He said
Robert smiled, "You can play piano and sing in front of a huge crowd with no nerves but you a mess asking a question as simple as that." Robert said
"Robbie don't give him a hard time. I have no problem with that James. I trust that you will be good to her." Whitney said
"What she said James. I know you will be good to my baby." Robert said
"Thank you both. And I do get nervous being on stage especially because I have photographic memory like dad. There is more pressure on me to not mess up." He said
"Billie Ann told me that you told her that. That explains why James was always acing in school ." Whitney said
"And being the best QB." Robert said
After Bucky left, Robert and Whitney decided to not tell her that he is going to ask her. So when they had dinner they didn't say anything to her.
The next day while they were practicing one of the duets Bucky looked at her.
"Billie Ann I would like to take you on a date Saturday?" He said
She smiled, "I would like that." She said
Bucky smiled as he cupped her cheek and kissed her. They both laughed when they pulled apart then they kissed again.
