Maybe Meant To Be

~A Chapter and a Special~

"If you think I'm going to let you hurt my femme, you're wrong. Stay away from Y/D."

You opened your optics to see ****, and thinking back on his words, made your face turn an almost bright shade of blue.

Opening your optics, you could see Starscream transform and fly away from...
"Optimus!"

Your whole body and mind feel relieved of the sudden stress brought to you. Optimus turned upon hearing your voice, and was now facing you.
"Y/D... Are you alright?"

You responded with running over and hugging the taller Prime.

"I'm glad you're alright... Thank Primus you're safe."
"... Ahem- Hope I'm not, uh, interrupting anything?" Wheeljack stood behind the two of you, with a bit of an annoyed smirk on his faceplates.

"Wheeljack... I assume you're in proper condition?"
"Gotta few dents, but I'll be fine. Nothing a lil energon and recharge won't help with."
"Good. Let's get this energon back to the base then. ... Actually, would you mind taking it in? I need to get Y/D to Ratchet for a checkup."
"Or course..."

You looked up at Optimus with a small smile.
"I already said I was alright."
"This is not up for debate."
And with that, he scooped you up into his arms and carried you through the ground bridge. Ratchet had you sit down on the medical berth set aside for patients, and he started to make sure everything was in proper condition.

"How did you even find us?"
"Wheeljack commed us and told us Starscream was there. But he also mentioned how he couldn't get into the cave, and you were in alone with Starscream."
"Oh... Well thank you for coming to my rescue then Optimus... But I could've dealt with him! Really!"
"... I know you can."
For some reason, I feel like you don't actually believe me...

After your checkup, Optimus led you to your berthroom.
"Y/D... Could we perhaps talk privately?"
"Ok..." Is he going to make it so I can't go on anymore missions?! But that was my first one! I can't be stuck here forever..!

"No, this isn't about the mission. It's about this morning... I believe you heard Wheeljack's and my conversation."
"Oh that... Only you two walking away from each other in gloomy moods."
"... Y/D... I need to know... Do you like Wheeljack?"

There was some silence before you burst into laughter, frame practically shaking.
"Wheeljack? Did you think that I liked Wheeljack?" You chuckled and shook your helm. "Is that what's been eating at you? We're only friends, silly!"
"Oh, I feel like... A fool then-"
"Don't feel bad Oppy... Besides, you should know, that if there's anyone I like, it's you~!" You stood on your berth, and then on the tips of your peds, leaving a small kiss on Optimus' faceplates. You then left the berthroom, leaving behind a flustered Prime.

"You really are a lovestruck fool aren't you?" He sighed and rubbed his helm thinking. "I've been upset over nothing..."

Outside of the berthroom, Optimus could see you helping Wheeljack bring in all the energon cubes. Yes, you were laughing and smiling with him, but he saw you look over, and wave at him.

Sooo, no, this chapter isn't quite over. But I was going to add a little bit of a late Special. A Valentine's Day Special to be exact~! I wanted to make it a few weeks back, but I got busy and then ended up forgetting. So it was going to be a chapter+ special, and I decided it would fit in here!

(Optimus' POV)

"Hey Big Guy!" I looked down to see Miko standing by the rails of the human area. "Sooo, today is Valentine's Day! You giving something to Y/D?"
"I do not believe I know this human holiday..."
"Uh... Y'know. You give flowers, chocolates, and other nice gifts to the one you love?"
"Ah... Well... To tell the truth, Miko, I didn't really have anything planned."
"Well that's gotta change! I'm sure Y/D would love if you did something for her!"

"Hm... So how are you going to ask her to be your Valentine?"
"How does one do that? Surely I can just ask her?"
"You don't just randomly go up to the person! Usually you would make it all fancy and then ask them to be your Valentine."
"And if she says no?"
"Pfft- have you seen yourself with her? She loves you, so it's fine!"

"I was thinking I could perhaps ask her at sunset?"
"Isn't that a little late- Oh whatever- It's the thought that counts."
"But I didn't get her a gift yet..."
"... At this point, you could probably get her some flowers and she'd be happy with that-"

(Y/D's POV)

"Hello Miko! What are you up to?"
"Hey Y/D! Just helping O.P set up a-" her words were suddenly muffled when Jack covered Miko's mouth.
"Miko, that's supposed to be a secret, remember?" He whispered and uncovered her mouth.
"Rightttt- Oh! But I do have to tell her to meet up with him!"
"Then do that, but without telling her what it's about."
"Y/D, we- I, need you to go up to the rooftop of the base. It's realllly important!"

Stepping out, I could see Optimus overlooking the scenery.
"It's beautiful isn't it? I always enjoy a good sunset. The ones on the Nemesis were always a sight to behold."
"Hello Y/D. Uhm... These are for you."
Optimus held out some pretty f/c f/f.
"How did you know..!" I smelled the flowers, and smiled, looking back at Optimus. "These are my favorite!"
"A little birdy told me..."
"Thank you... So, what's the occasion?"

It has just occurred to the humans watching, that if Optimus didn't know about Valentine's Day, Y/D probably didn't.

"Ah, well... I figured you might like learning some of Earth's traditions. Today is the human holiday Valentine's Day. You share the day or celebrate with the ones you love."
"Aw... That sounds super fun. So, is this is going to celebrate together?"
"... If you'd like? I mean,.." Optimus cleared his throat, before continuing. "Would you be my Valentine?"

I could only chuckle, seeing the flustered Prime.
"Of course!" I hugged the taller mech and chuckled. "And so, that makes you my Valentine too, right?"
"Only if you'll take me."
"Of course."

Anyways- Special be done, and so is this chapter! Sooo, I think we're getting closer to the beast hunter season, which means we'll also be getting close to the movie- Which meanssss, ... Yeah no spoilers and whatever's for what I'm doing- But we're getting closer and closer to the end, which means, chaos is coming~!
