"Oh my god!!Coach Tanner!"

Evelyn and Jeremy heard from the distance. Not understanding what happened both of them furrowed their eyes. Jeremy looked Evelyn.
"Let's go " He said .
Both of them standing up and running towards the back of the ground.

When they arrived there ,they saw the most gruesome sight infront of them.
Coach Tanner was lying on the ground with blood everywhere around him , his eyes open wide and his neck had two puncture sites.

Evelyn gasped at the sight wide eyed. Jeremy too couldn't believe his eyes to see his teacher to die in such a gruesome death. It really looked like some kind of animal attacked him.

He quickly buries her face in his shoulder shielding her away from the scene. Evelyn was crying silently in his arms. She never knew Mr Tanner as a teacher, although Elena and Jeremy always gossiped about him to be the most heartless teacher in the world. She still didn't wished his fate to be so awful.

Silently brushing through her hair ,Jeremy tried to calm down his sister. He knew how sensitive she was. How this is affecting her. Looking up from the scene he saw Stefan looking at them with sadness?
He didn't understood at first, but then he he looked closely to see him looking at Evelyn.

Jeremy felt a strange feeling in his gut. Tightening his hold on her , He looked a little irritated at Stefan. He didn't understood why Elena's boyfriend was always so concerned and caring towards Evelyn. He found it strange.

Stefan looked at Evelyn's distress . He felt responsible for her distress. He was not ready to see her in so much pain.
'Damn it! This is all my fault . Evelyn looks so sad . Damon truly became a monster with no heart.'

Looking up he saw Jeremy already looking at him with anger. He didn't understood why but he brushed it off.

"Let's go Evy." Jeremy said tenderly to her.
She nodded a little and left with him still hugging him.

Walking back home the siblings were quiet .None of them knew what to say. Both of them had things going on their mind.
It took some time for Evelyn to stop crying. Right now he was holding her hand for support. Looking at her brother, Evelyn noticed his gloomy face. She felt awful for not checking up on him.

"Jerry..How are you?" She said almost quietly.
Silently he looked up at her " I don't know what happened today. What was that ? I mean how come an animal is attacking so many people around town. First Vicky now Tanner." He said frustratingly.

Evelyn looked at him with empathy. She understood his emotions. Afterall he was just a kid. They all were. They didn't knew any better . Gripping his arm tightly she rubbed it for comfort.

"I understand. You and me both feel the same way. I-I just wished he shouldn't have died." She said sadly.

Looking at her he hugged her sideways and said " It's okay Evelyn. Police will find out about the attack. Dont worry. Plus I won't let anything happen to you or Elena."

Smiling warmly to him she nodded at him.
"Come on let's go before Elena comes out to finds us." He joked making her laugh a little.

Looking at her sleeping, he didn't understood why he felt so content. Her eyes were closed and a peaceful expression on her face . He gently glided his finger on her cheeks and felt her soft warm flesh beneath it. Looking at her curiously he felt a strange sort if attachment to the girl.

He didn't understood why he always felt so ease with her. Was she some sort of witch, or was she like katherine...a temptress to lure him with her innocent charms.
