Hypogriffs are exceptionally intelligent creatures. Understanding the situation immediately, Highwing navigated the skies, avoiding trees, strong winds, and birds, ensuring the safest flight. With no place to land, Leike used Bombarda on the corridor window, shattering the wall to gain entry into the castle. Highwing, comprehending the urgency, landed with ease on the tiles inside the building.
The abrupt entrance caused nurses and other hospital visitors to scream in shock. Nevertheless, Beast walked gracefully to the main room, gently releasing Leike and Sebastian. Afterward, it approached Lotte, prompting her to go back to her bag.
Sebastian was carefully placed on the hospital bed, receiving immediate attention. His pulse was alarmingly low, and beneath his skin, many veins were broken due to the Cruciatus spell.
"This is a severe curse. Hospital care won't be sufficient. We need a releasing spell that Aurors can perform," Leike informed the nurses, who promptly followed her instructions. Turning to Lotte, she urged, "Notify Professor Sharp quickly. We need a stabilizer and stronger regenerating potions." Lotte, though in despair, rushed to the Fiuu station.
As nurses prepared for Sharp's arrival, Leike, holding Sebastian's hand, cast a spell to release the curse. The strength of the curse left a faint, tingling sensation on her skin. Memories of her Auror training, where Cruciatus was intentionally used to fortify their resilience against enemy capture, sent shivers down her spine.
The prompt arrival of Charlotte and Sharp interrupted Leike's thoughts. Sharp firstly checked Leike's condition, and when he noticed that she is unharmed, he turned his attention to the critical condition of the boy.
"What are his vitals?" he asked.
"The pulse is decreasing, no consciousness. He seems to be still under the curse," reported a nurse, administering a potion to Sebastian.
"I will take over now, Leike, you should rest," Taking charge, Sharp gently took the boy's hand from Leike, their fingers briefly touching, sending a wave of emotions through both.
Her thoughts left her feeling almost nauseous, forcing her to sit on a nearby bed. Conflicted, one side of her yearned to look at him, to be in his presence, while the other was resentful of the way he left her alone, without a warning, giving her a year of emotional hell on earth.
Lotte, noticing Leike's distress, came over, but Leike needed peace. Standing up, she went to the corridor, and repaired the broken window that blew due to Bombarda. Sensing Sharp's gaze, she glimpsed him looking at her.
Returning to the hospital room, she sat back on the bed, deep in thought. Time passed, and she noticed Sharp slowly losing focus. His forehead sweated, and nurse Bethany, with a wet cloth, approached him. Leike intervened, taking the cloth, stating firmly, "I will do this." Her motives weren't clear to her, but something inside heated up at the sight of another woman approaching him.
Coming closer to Sharp, she touched his face, bringing a cool sensation to his skin. Being so close to him felt like a guilty pleasure, something she shouldn't enjoy, but did. Examining his face, she tried to recall every detail, searching for any remnants of the Sharp who once meant the world to her.
As she approached, Sharp's pulse increased with each step, sweating even more. Feeling a cold sensation, he closed his eyes, allowing himself to feel the happiness flowing through his veins whenever she touched him. The feeling was almost overwhelming, it was hard for him to stay steady.
