She laid on the ground, unmoving. Dead.
He didn't care that he was out in the open, nor did he care of the lurking beasts behind them, all he cared about was of his Wise Girl.
A monster had come behind them, quietly. It was so quiet that neither of them could hear it. The monster attacked and Annabeth just fell to the ground, dead before she knew it.
The monster had run off before it could be tortured by the other demigod.
The boy held tightly onto the girl, as if by holding her strong enough she might come back. Of course, that did not happen.
The boy prayed to the gods, to any god, for help. He swore his loyalty to forever be on Olympus, he swore that he would forever be the gods pawn if they just saved his Wise Girl. All he got in response was silence
Tears streamed down his face as the cold, harsh truth finally hit him like a brick. She was dead. She was dead
He could not speak, he could not see. The boy did not feel anything. All he felt was...numbness
At that moment, the boy finally lost it. Monsters came out from their hiding places to kill the vulnerable demigod, and that demigod did not care. Because at that moment...
Percy Jackson had lost all hope.
