Once on the Argo II, a whole hoard of monsters came and almost killed everyone. And Percy was trying his best but his best wasn't enough, so he willed himself to do the same thing when he almost choked the other goddess in Tartarus, but instead of chocking them to death they just exploded. And for five horrible seconds, Percy is laughing because he feels like he was in control of everything, like he could make things die if he wanted to. And that made him sick.
