Percy had always imagined that he would die of old age.
When he discovered he was a Half-Blood, those thoughts changed completely.
Each year, Percy was more sure that he would die in battle. More precisely, fighting Kronos on his sixteen birthday.
And so now, when he was standing in front of the gods, who had just offered him Immortality, he could only think of how close to death he was moments ago.
And now he could live forever.
He had the opportunity at his hands, to live for centuries and eons. To watch the world grow, and fight threats that might arise. To become more powerful, and to forever serve his father.
But when he looked back, he saw Annabeth, looking resigned and hopeless, and he knew at that moment what his answer was.
"No."
He composed himself, and more kindly offered what his wish was.
And when he looked back at Annabeth, her face was of pure shock and relief. A smile gracing her lips.
And Percy, too, smiled.
Because at that moment, he knew that he would rather die a thousand painful deaths than leave Annabeth in this lonely world.

I made this headcannon myself because I desperately wanted to write some Percabeth. Dam... (*wink*) And also, someone once challenged me to write a happy headcannon, so I guess this applies... CHALLENGE COMPLETED!Also, I have recently joined a Percy Jackson magazine. It's fairly new, but we are making progress.
Magazine: PJO-MagazineI hope you guys like this headcannon! Bye!!!
