Chapter Twenty Four: Majin Buu Awakens

Nitrate and Vegeta remained kneeled on the floor, minds focused on the trouble from their past. The latter seemed much better than he was before as he released a breath of relief and closed his eyes, the moment of tranquillity was something he desperately needed after unveiling so much trauma from his childhood. Nitrate was not much better, a defeated shimmer in his eyes, but he managed to stop the prince from destroying himself in a pointless battle.

He watched Vegeta for a moment longer and then a hand out towards him. However, before he could make contact, the sudden feeling of Ki pressure expanded from another part of the desert. The energy was extremely large, and a single thought came to Nitrate's mind as he watched:

Nitrate: "He's awake..."

Vegeta: "W-What?"

Nitrate: "We need to move; if Buu is awake, then Gohan, Goku and Supreme Kai are in trouble. Come on. Let's go and help them out."

The Arcosian stood up, tensed his muscles, and wandered towards a random direction in preparation to fly. However, he immediately ceased his actions when Vegeta moved to follow and began raising his hand. He widened his eyes in disbelief, not expecting the story to remain the same, as a powerful aura radiated from his monstrous physique.

Before Vegeta could respond, Nitrate teleported behind to deal a powerful blow to his neck; he wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine, even if he did not know that he had already tried this on Goku in an alternate reality. The shorter male tensed from the blow and then fell towards the ground with a thud, leaving Nitrate in silence.

Nitrate: "...Honestly, I should have expected him to do this. He is an asshole, after all."

The Frost Demon smiled to himself, resting the prince against the earth, before taking off towards Majin Buu's Ki. He could sense Goku and Gohan in the distance as they struggled against the monster, but Supreme Kai was difficult to make out among the mountainous heaps of energy.

Nitrate relented in his search when the he noticed both Babidi and Majin Buu hovering in the air, an unreadable expression on the former's face as the latter held the battered form of Gohan in a single, gloved hand. The wizard continued talking:

Babidi: "I must admit, Majin Buu's power is even greater than I had anticipated. You will be the first experiment for testing his limits, Saiyan brat!"

Nitrate: "You'll have to deal with me first."

Babidi: "Hmm?"

In response to Nitrate's words, Babidi looked to the side and came face-to-face with his towering form. He gasped in shock, horrified, before using a spell to gain some distance between them. He left Majin Buu to eliminate Gohan and the Arcosian.

Babidi: "Buu! Leave the boy for now and deal with this alien upstart! I command you!"

Buu: "Hmm.... No! Buu wanna play!"

Nitrate released a thunderous cackle, humoured by the pink creature's lack of respect for Babidi, a single tear building in his eyes which he was quick to flick away. The Frost Demon gathered himself just in time to witness Babidi whisper something, likely referencing his spell to seal Buu away again.

His suspicions were proven correct as Majin Buu, glaring into his soul, released a battle cry and then charged. The mindless attack had been expected, and Nitrate easily dodged to the side before using his left foot, kicking Majin Buu in the head with an overwhelming amount of force then pushed him.

The monster went soaring through the air, landing in a nearby mountain range where he exploded a considerable percentage of the land.

Nitrate: "Yeah, that's about what I expected."
