Chapter Twenty Five: The Legendary Beatdown

On the Lookout, the Z Fighters watched the battle in awed silence; Nitrate's transformation radiated through the air and carried itself across the world, spreading into the universe.

The immense heat and pressure almost knocked them to the ground. Goku and Vegeta were silent as more and more Ki pushed against their bodies like the weight of a million suns, the Saiyans had not spoken to each other for quite some time.

The first to speak up was Krillin:

Krillin: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT POWER!!?"

Yamcha: "RIGHT!!? Nitrate just released WAY too much energy!!! He could DESTROY THE EARTH!!!"

Bulma: "Wait...SERIOUSLY!!? WHAT THE HELL IS HE THINKING, THAT IDIOT!!!"

No one noticed the two Saiyan warriors looming on the edge of the Lookout with unreadable eyes that watched Nitrate's every movement; it was a shock to both of them, witnessing just how much power their friend had been concealing.

Vegeta: "All these years...and THIS is what he was hiding beneath the surface...without us knowing."

Goku: "...Yeah."

Vegeta: "For so many years, I tried to prove that I could match him in battle. The past seven years of my life were dedicated to surpassing the bastard and proving myself the strongest....but now..."

The Saiyan Prince looked towards Goku, his mouth twisting into a bittersweet grin that stretched with untold sadness and frustration. He could feel all of his passion fading into obscurity, like a flame that reached its last flicker before vanishing without an inkling of pride or honour, but with a whimper.

Vegeta looked towards the distant battle again as the accumulated Ki continued expanding, giving no implication that it would stop anytime soon. It was frustrating, rage-inducing, pathetic, and the biggest blow to his pride in a VERY long time.

Vegeta: "What the hell are we supposed to do? He completely outranks us a billion times over, and it will only grow larger with each passing day."

Goku: "Honestly? I....kinda wanna fight him."

Vegeta: "But what would be the point!? There's no conceivable timeline where Nitrate loses to us, he always outpaces us with sheer power and ability!! The longer he fights, the more he adapts!!"

Goku: "That's EXACTLY why I want to fight him!! It may seem impossible, but there has never been a good opportunity to grow stronger since he left. I want to train with him, get a feel for the gap, then break my limits with EVERYTHING I HAVE!!"

Goku could feel something boiling inside him, the familiar sensation that had all but faded since he took a backseat in the fighting scene; it was a fire that grew and burned and shined with such great ferocity, the feeling almost broke his chest open.

The sparkle in the Saiyan's eyes seemed to gleam with unreasonable passion, his lips twitching into an excited, toothy grin which threatened to split open his face with how large it rose.

Goku looked down at his hands. They were both shaking due to the immense Ki, but there was an untold second purpose for this shivering; he was excited, gleeful, and pumped about the Nitrate's new transformation. He wanted to see it fight in the front lines, to know just how strong it was.
