Taraji's POV
My promise ring glimmered under the bubbles of the sudsy dishwater as I throughly scrubbed a plate that once held a pile of shrimp linguine. I handed the plate to Danielle so that she could rinse it off and place it in the dish rack to dry. I invited her over for dinner and caught her up on everything that had been happening in my life since I last saw her outside of a work environment. I left out the part about Fantasia's miscarriage because I didn't know if she was ready to share something so devastating and sensitive, even if it is with a close friend.
Danielle: I'm glad that you were able to go home and find the closure and clarity you needed. Do you really think Tai is going to divorce her husband?
Taraji: I hope so. Am I a horrible person for saying that?
Danielle: Do you want to hear the truth, or do you want to hear what's going to make you feel better about yourself?
Taraji: I don't know.
Danielle:*sighs* I don't think you're a horrible person, but what you're doing doesn't represent you in the best way. I'm team Tarasia all the way, but my support of your relationship doesn't mean that it's right. As a married woman, I don't condone it, but as you and Fantasia's friend, I just want you guys to be happy with each other.
Taraji: Drama will probably always follow our relationship because of how it has come about, but I truly believe that Fantasia is worth dealing with the consequences.
Danielle: Well then there's nothing left to say. If you really feel that way, then you guys should fight your hardest to stay together. So am I going to be the flower girl in the wedding?
Taraji: I was thinking more along the lines of maid of honor.
Danielle: Are you for real?! Don't play with me right now Panda!
Taraji: Bitch it's Penda!
Danielle laughed hysterically at her lame joke, causing me to laugh along with her even though my initial response was to simply roll my eyes. We were laughing so loud that I almost didn't hear someone pounding their fist on my front door. Our laughter died down when we finally noticed the alarming sound and I furrowed my eyebrows, trading a confused look with Dani.
Danielle: What the hell? They're banging like the police. Did you invite someone else over?
Taraji: No. It was just supposed to be me and you tonight. I have no idea who that could be.
