"You don't know that!" Charlie yells out.
"I, do! You didn't know that when I tried this all before, my dreams were to hard to defend," Lucifer's tone is somber despite the fact he's singing. "And in the end, I won't lose it all again. Now you're the only thing worth fighting for." He grabs Charlie by her hands. "More than anything... more than anything... I'll shelter and adore you more than anything." He rubs his hand on the back of her head.
"Dad, I don't need you to protect me from this," Charlie stands up and moves away from him a bit.
"I just don't want you to be crushed by them, like... like I was," Lucifer walks away, looking down at the floor.
"Dad..." Charlie looks at him with an expression Quin can't read. She begins to sing as well. "When I was young, I didn't really know you at all. I always felt so small, but I heard your stories and I was enthralled. The tales about your lofty dreams, I listened breathlessly, imagining it could be me." She smiles at him. "So in the end, it's the view I had of you, that showed me dreams can be worth fighting for." She motions to her friends. "More than anything... more than anything... I need to save my people more than anything." She says with such a bright smile it's contagious. Quin finds himself smiling with her.
"I've been dying to find out who you are." Tears are welling up in Lucifer's eyes as he walks towards Charlie.
"I've been waiting, wanting the same thing," She seems so joyous as she walks towards her father.
"Looks like the apple doesn't fall far."
"Took you a while."
"I've missed that smile," he places his hand on Charlie's face.
They start to sing together. "All that I'm hopin now that my eyes are open, is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again." They dance together in a beautiful display. Quin almost tears up. "Cause in the end," Lucifer opens a portal and extends out his wings. He flies into the portal holding Charlie. Quin can no longer make out what their saying. When they finally return, they're holding each other. They utter one final "more than anything".
"Aww, that was sweet," Sir Pentious, as well as everyone else, is on the verge of tears. Holy motherfucking shit. I think that was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. I wish- no, I'm glad that her dad is a better father than mine.
"Okay, I can get you the meeting, but once you're in heaven," Lucifer looks away. "I won't be able to go with you. Will you be okay?" He looks back up at Charlie.
"I'll be fine," She says with a smile.
"That's my girl," Lucifer seems so proud of his daughter, something Quin is so happy to see. Lucifer lets out a sigh of worry before he composes himself. Lucifer takes one last look at the group of people in front of him. "Good luck Kiddo-" he stops himself and looks directly at Quin. "Wait, WHAT?! You're a- You're not a sinner!" Lucifer walks over to Quin. Everyone else just stares in disbelief.
"What...?" Charlie looks at Quin. Everyone looks at Quin. He starts to panic.
"What? No, I'm- I'm a sinner just like you guys!" He laughs nervously.
"No, you're not. I'd recognize a sinner any day, and you're definitely not one," Lucifer starts to examine him.
"Then, what are you...?" Angel asks, a concerned look on his face.
"You must be from heaven!" Lucifer says, as if he's got it all figured out. Vaggie looks awfully nervous, but Quin has no idea why she's nervous when all of the attention is on him! "You're a winner!"
"No-" Quin tries to deny it, but to his dismay, Husker speaks up.
"So you are from heaven! I knew it!"
"What- What are you talking about?" Quin tries to play it off, but now everyone is glaring at him.
"Don't lie. I saw your wing that night you stumbled into the hotel, high as a kite," Quin has a realization of horror. He starts hyperventilating.
"It's not what you think-" he cuts himself off. "I swear! I just... I just..." Quin feels his vision start to fade. Suddenly, he hits the floor.
...
Quin wakes up to everyone hovering over him. Unfortunately, he clearly remembers the spot Lucifer put him in.
"Listen-" Quin starts to defend himself when Angel puts his hand on his shoulder.
"We're not mad or angry at you. We just want to know what happened," Angel had a gentle smile on his face, and as Quin looks around, he realizes so does everyone else.
"I-" Quin starts to tear up.
"Hey, it's okay. Take your time," Charlie puts her hand on his other shoulder. Quin sits up slowly, and begins to tell them all the story of how he fell from heaven.
"That sick fucking bastard!!" Vaggie yells out.
"What the actual fuck?!" Angel and Sir Pentious both exclaim.
Charlie and Husker seem beyond pissed in their own right, and Lucifer, he seems to have an expression of empathy. It's clear everyone is pissed, but not at Quin. They've all taken his side. They've all, taken his side. Quin starts to shake as he begins to cry violently.
"Quin, what's wrong?" Charlie rushes over to Quin.
"I just-" his breathing hics. "I just always blamed myself for falling into hell..." he looks away. "But, you're all saying it's okay." He lets out a very loud sob.
"It is. Everyone here agrees with me on that, right guys?" Charlie motions to the family Quin has come to know, plus Lucifer. Everyone exclaims some form of yes. They all gather around Quin as he cries, comforting him. Quin has been in the darkness for some time now, but he feels as though he's finally stepped into the light.
When he looks back up at his friends, he wipes away his tears. "Thank you. Thank you all so much." He smiles the most genuine smile he thinks he's ever smiled. They all smile back warmly.
The group starts to disperse, allowing Quin to take a breather. As he's taking a moment to himself, Lucifer walks up.
"Can I talk to you?"
