Chapter 14

Hunter moans with heat radiating off of him as he says holding Emerald closer, "don't talk about them, just give me this one moment." Emerald feels his hand slide down to slowly behind her back as he nuzzles her close sending a small shiver pulsing through her body. The song soon ends as the room erupts with applause and whistles from the crowd just as Hunter lets Emerald go several female Dragons crowd around Hunter as a guard suddenly grabs Emerald's arm saying, "the King is busy... this way, slave." Emerald silently goes with the guard who brings her to a room as she sees Josh saying, "hey, it's Emerald, right?." Emerald smiles remembering him from earlier when she saved him from Annabelle's wrath as he gives her a supportive smile saying, "I remember you from the hunt, you saved my life that night and also today." Emerald says, "I did, but I... I wish I could have found you sooner and even saved a few more people." Josh says, "you found me before they could their worst and I am truly grateful for that, thank you I will never forget it and if you ever need anything, please come to me." Emerald says, "thank you, Josh, that is-." 

Before Emerald could finish her word she felt a sudden shiver behind her back as Damien smirked asking, "ooh, what's going on here? young forbidden love?." Emerald could feel her heart pounding hearing Damien's cold, sarcastic voice slithering into her ear. Damien says, "I am terribly sorry, boy however I am going to have to steal your little girlfriend for a dance, after all my slave is laying in a hospital bed and I have nobody else to play with." Emerald turns to face him as he smirks with an evil look in his eyes asking, "have you missed me, sweet little Emerald?." Emerald angrily replies, "I have missed a few opportunities to kill you." Damien asks, "aw, are you trying to tell me you like it rough?." Damien comes closer throwing Emerald into his arms as his hands slide to her waist saying, "tell me, what is it that my dear friend Hunter sees in someone like you? is it your body?." Damien pulls Emerald into the ballroom as he says, "looks like we have a Royal audience, let's give them something to look at." Emerald says, "Damien-. I mean, Master-, please....." He looks at her arm asking, "I forgot, how did you get this bandage again?." Emerald replies, "me and Hunter already told you, I was injured when...." Damien says, "you're right but that is what you said, is it the truth? Let's have a look shall we?." Damien comes closer with his slimy cold hands to begin removing the bandage as Emerald thinks, 'no I can't let him do this to me....' Emerald uses her strength to push Damien off of her as she says, "don't you fucking touch me, asshole!." Damien gets up as she kicks him as he says, "AH! You bitch, now you have REALLY done it!." Emerald runs out of the room as Damien shouts to the guard to, "GO AFTER HER! I WANT HER BROUGHT BACK, ALIVE!." 

Hunter thinks, 'Emerald is in danger, I have to go after her.' The crowd of female Dragons were surrounding Hunter's path whilst elsewhere Emerald kept running however Damien's gruesome voice echoed through the halls as she ran for her life. Emerald soon came across a door thinking, 'it's not safe for me to be here! I need to get out this castle!.' Emerald flings it open as she sees the exit is a sheer mountain cliff; there is a heavy storm with torrential rain, harsh winds pushing Emerald towards the edge. Emerald finally stops herself near the edge before hearing a voice, "Emerald? Is everything ok?." Emerald turns to see Annabelle coming over to her as she says, "you poor dear, you're trembling in this storm." Emerald's voice feels shaky replying, "M-Mistress, please. I did not mean to escape, Damien... he...D-Damien-." Annabelle says, "Damien, again? that awful beast, come here men can be so vile and repulsive, right? they are not to be trusted with anything." Emerald thought for a moment before saying, "they are all scum, but I think that-." Annabelle cuts her off saying, "yes, so easily distracted, by drinks, beauty, games... and gorgeous little girls." Emerald felt really confused by Annabelle's word as she asked, "I am so confused Annabelle, what are you trying to say to me?." Annabelle's expression changed from a calm look to a fury look and twisted red smile saying, "well don't you agree that it is best to get rid of those distraction, don't you think so?." Before she could give an answer Annabelle shoved Emerald off the edge of the cliff.
