Indy is an English teacher at a middle school and Price is the corresponding math teacher for the same grade.

Every student in school ships them for one reason or another. Partially because the two looked cute together, and partially because Price's stern demeanor seemed to melt and lessen whenever he was around her.

As she was teaching a class, he knocked on the door and popped his head in. "Hey, can I borrow those books over there for a sec?"

The class took advantage of the situation, making 'ooh' sounds while giggling. Indy rolled her eyes at the students as she motions for him to come in. "Settle down, you romance enthusiasts. Only romance around here is between Romeo and Juliet. Back to your silent reading."

The students groan at being called out and Price rolls his eyes at them, though he's holding back a little smile. "They never learn, do they?" He whispers to her while taking the books he asked for.

"Nope, but don't let them get to you." She whispers in repsonse with a smile of her own. The obvious gaze of the students weighed heavy on the two teachers. One students went so far as to make kissing noises, getting Indy to go a bit red as she gives the perp a stern look.

Price chuckles at her reaction and makes sure he's whispering quietly enough that the students can't hear him. "Can I just say that you look cute when your embarrassed?"

The students, starved for drama and romance, are paying less and less attention to their reading books now, trying to listen in on the conversation.

"Careful, don't want them to hear you saying that. Word travels like wildfire around here." It's obvious the students are already whispering and giglging to themselves, only adding the Indy's discomfort.

He grins and whispers back, caring less and less about being heard. "I'm starting to think it shouldn't matter if they hear or not. Besides, I think they know better than anyone that I've got a bit of a soft spot for you. I mean, we're both single, so what's stopping us from seeing where this goes?"

Indy finds a bit of her usual confident nature and responds with a playful tone. "For starters, you've never asked me out. Even if you did, it would be all over the school before the day ends. We'd become their real-life romance drama."

"Right, I seem to have forgotten that little detail and gotten ahead of myself. And, yeah, I think the whole school would find out immediately." Price pauses for a second before smiling mischievously again, whispering to you. "Isn't that half the fun, though?"

That gets her to chuckle. "We won't be able to teach a thing in our classes ever again. All their focus would be on us." Indy throws a fair counter, seeing as it's hard enough to get kids to pay attention.

He just shrugs in response. "That's the beauty of it. We'd basically get free periods. Besides, I think you're a little mistaken to assume they aren't already fantasizing about it anyways."

"Oh, I know they are. Watch this." Indy turns to the students with a serious expression. "I'm gonna need to talk to the captain of this ship. I got a question."

The whole class turns over to her, some already having smiles on their faces as they let the leader makes themself known.

The 'captain' of this ship, a boy named Chris, raises his hand and looks down at you expectantly. "Yes, ma'am?"

"What's the name of this ship?" She asks bluntly.

The boy smiles sheepishly before answering. "The current winner is 'Joana'. 'Jo' from Mr.Price's first name, John, and 'ana' from your first name, Indiana. You know, something unique and cute."

"Thank you, Chris." Indy turns to Price with an amused expression. "You know, that name isn't half-bad."

Price chuckles and nods in agreement. "We should talk after class." He glances at the students. "Prefferably away from prying eyes and listening ears."

"Alright, we'll talk after school." She says with a smile as he heads out.

An idea comes to mind and she decides to twist it into an assignment. "Ok, I'm curious, so I'm giving out an optional assignment. If you do it, I'll exempt you from this week's writing test. You guys interested?"

The whole class looks excited, all of them eagerly nodding in interest. "Alright... What's the assignment?" One of them asks, curious about what Indy was offering.

"Two choices; either a 2-page romance story on how you think Mr. Price and I would be if we were dating, or a character analasys and on us and possible conflicts that could arise."

The class gets even more excited, some students even cheering.

This is gonna be interesting....

Indy thinks to herself as she watches students start writing or pulling up google slides on their computer.
