This one's self-indulgent. I keep seeing the idea on TikTok and I think it's about time I take a crack at it. A three-parter, so keep an eye out for other parts!

The team had been on a somewhat routine mission. Break into this facility, take down the bad guys here, release the hostages there, normal stuff really.

Why was it a somewhat routine mission? Well, because this facility they were breaking into was supposedly an abandoned orphanage. There shouldn't be anyone in here to start with.

Still, the Task Force did what they did best. Break into the facility, take down the small group of bad guys here, release the group of hostages there, find a baby hidden among a few dead bodies-

"The bloody hell did you just say?!" Price says, be-lining straight towards Indy who's currently staring wide-eyed at a sleeping bundle hidden within a pile of old rags.

"Shhh! The baby's sleeping." She shushes him and lowers her voice, not wanting to wake the infant.

Gaz, Soap, and Ghost all join in at the gawking. Surprisingly enough, Gaz is the one to say something stupid. "... you pick it up." He gently pushes Indy towards the baby.

The shove earns him a glare. "What? Why me?" She asks in a hushed voice.

"You're the woman. You know how to handle babies." And Gaz would have gotten his head smacked if it weren't for the honest confusion and helpless look on his face.

Rolling her eyes, Indy gently picks up the sleeping baby, careful not to jostle the poor thing and holding it close to her chest. "Now what?"

Soap looks between her and the baby. "... how would we know? Ye're the lass."

Price speaks up before Indy can lay in on the Scotsman. "She means, what do we do now that we've found a baby."

The men all nod in sudden understanding.

"Well, we can't leave it here. It's clear the parents must've been one of the dead we found for it to have been left behind. Not exactly like law enforcement is gonna help in this scenario, either. Not with how this town runs. Best choice is to take it with us and turn the babe over once we get back to base." Price sighs, scratching at his beard.

"Fine, but we need to stop at a store or something. A pharmacy at least. God knows if the poor thing has a rash. And a propper blanket instead of these rags." Indy points out, clearly thinking about the baby's current state and needs.

"Alright, we'll do what we can." Price assures, leading them out of the building.

They find a small shop, and after some guess work, grab the right sized diapers, a pacifier, rash cream, and a baby blanket. Best they can do until they make it somewhere more populated.

Halfway back to base, the baby (they confirmed it was a boy when Indy changed him out of the old diaper), woke up. He looks up at her and scrunches up his face, a clear indication that he's about to cry.

Indy immediately pulls maternal instincts out of seemingly thin air. She's on her feet and soothingly walking the baby around the plane. "It's alright, love. Everything's ok."

Ghost, secretly intrigued, watches the whole thing silently. Soap and Gaz are much more vocal about their observations, wondering how the hell she managed to calm the baby down.

"It's witchcraft, I swear. How does she suddenly know how to deal with a baby?" Gaz asks, voice hushed.

"No idea. All lasses just seem to know what to do. Like a hive mind." Soap says in a conspirital tone.

"She was an older sister, you idiots. She used to take care of her younger brother. They had a 14-year age gap." Price grumbles, keeping his own tone of voice low.

That gets the attention of the 3 other men. "What do you mean she was an older sister?" Ghost asks with a suspicious tone.

Price ignores Ghost question entirely and just gives them a pointed look. "She knows what she's doing."

They get the message and drop the topic right as Indy comes back with a settled baby.

"Alright, this little guy is hungry and the pacifier will only hold him off for so long." Indy sighs. "We need to find him something to eat unless we want him screaming bloody murder the rest of the flight."

"Can we give the lad a cracker or something?" Soap asks.

"No. He's about 5 months old. Crackers are a bit of a choking hazard when a baby is this young." She explains.

"What can they eat at this age?" Gaz asks, intrigued at the new knowledge.

"Well, they can eat small amounts of pureed food."

"What about apple sauce?" Ghost pipes up, pulling out a tube of unsweetened apple sauce from his gear.

"That... is actually perfect." Indy gives Ghost a surprised yet grateful look as she takes the tube and carefully starts feeding the boy.

"... can we give the lad a name?" Soap asks with an mischevous grin growing on his face.

"We aren't naming him Johnny." Ghost deadpans.

"What?! Why not?!" He protests.

"Because we already have one Johnny. Don't need another." Everyone snickers  at the implication of Ghost's words. Soap just rolls his eyes and crosses his arms in annoyance.

"How about Tomm- mfh?!" Price quickly clamps a hand over Gaz's mouth and speaks up. "I vote Alexander." He stares at the Lieutenant.

Luckily, Ghost chooses to ignore Gaz and instead comments on Price's choice. "The bloody hell kind of name is that? He's not some posh prick."

"Alright, since you seem so picky, what do you suggest, Ghost?" Indy asks.

He thinks for about 3 seconds before answering. "Jack."

"Not bad, Simon." Price chuckles. "Short and simple."

"I still think Johnny's a better choice." Soap grumbles. "But Jack is nae half bad."

Gaz nods in agreement.

"Alright, Jack it is." Indy finishes feeding the baby and cleans his face. "Well, Jack, welcome to the 141."

I didn't want to make this a super long chapter, so I broke it up. Here's the basic part 1 with a bit of a lore drop and refference to an earlier one-shot (Check out Haunted Memories). Part 2 is where we see the real fun begin. Comment below what you think!
