The next morning, Price is none the wiser as to what his soldiers were up to that night.

Ghost was up most of the night brandishing his knives in the moonlight. Yeah, he's insane. Gaz was doom-scrolling on his phone and sending a bunch of funny videos to Indy who returned the favor by sending him back the funny videos she found. Soap was up most of the night playing angry birds on his phone. The first to fall asleep were Gaz and Indy at around 2 a.m., Soap passed out, mid-level, at 3 a.m., and Ghost fell asleep at 4.

In the morning, instead of looking well-rested, the team looked just as tired as the day before. Price couldn't understand why seeing as he saw them all either sleeping or ready to fall asleep. They didn't even have to get up until 7 a.m.

He chalked it up to their bodies finally realizing that they were missing a lot of sleep and needing a few more consistent nights of rest before seeing some improvement.

Three nights of enforcing the lights out rule and there was still no improvement. By now, Price knows he's somehow being duped.

"Alright, you muppets, what's going on?" He asks, clearly not in a good mood as he crosses his arms and stares down his soldiers during breakfast.

"What are you talking about, Captain?" Indy asks, acting confused.

"You know damn well what I'm talking about, Indiana." He growls. The use of her full first name has her going wide awake and feeling rattled as she eats nervously. "You should have all been getting 9 hours of sleep for the past 3 nights, instead, you all look like you're getting even less sleep."

Ghost speaks up to take the harsh tone off of Indy. "We're in bed every night by 22:00 like you asked. What more do you want?"

Price just glares at them. "Fine, I hope you muppets are ready for training. You're doing a 10-mile run in full gear."

The Captain is never cruel during training. Hard? Yes. But not cruel. Not even Ghost is that cruel during training. This is meant to break them. They've prepared for this, though, and won't break. Hopefully.

6 miles in and life is starting to become hell. Price is in uniform but isn't wearing any gear, making him lighter and faster. Everyone else is in full gear and keeping up, for now. "Come on, muppets, let's move it! We have 4 miles left!"

These soldiers can run, sure, but not like this. Indy is the most agile on the team, but running so long with all the gear is weighing her down more than she's used to. Soap and Gaz are stronger and Gaz enjoys running, but they are starting to feel the burn in their legs. Ghost, well, Ghost isn't one to run. He can, sure, but long constant running? In gear from head to toe? Not unless it's out of spite or for survival.

"After a good night's sleep, you 4 should be able to handle this! Come on!" He's taunting them now.

"Lass. Lass." Soap rasps to Indy, knowing she's might be able to talk Ghost into coming clean. "Talk some- talk some sense into him. There's no need for this."

Ghost bonks him on the back of the head. "Focus, Soap. He's trying to break us." He's panting by now but refuses to give up.

Mile 7 is the turning point for even the strongest of the runners.

"H-hey...." Gaz wheezes, trying to keep up with Price. "Slow down. We're weighed down. Too fast." He pants as he tries to talk to Price.

"Move it!" No such luck.
