As Sebastian and I departed from the port, waving goodbye to our families, a mixture of emotions overcame me. Happiness for the opportunity to explore my relationship with him. Sadness for the pain I was causing Gabriel by leaving. I chose to focus on joy. Sebastian was perfect. I just had to let myself forget everything and everyone else and live in the moment.

Sebastian had the entire holiday planned out. We would head to Formentera, where we would refuel. Then we would sail for Menorca. It was a decent amount of time on the boat. That meant there was more than enough time for us to get to know each other more and for me to see if there was any long-lasting connection between us both.

"What would you like to eat?" Sebastian asked about two hours after we departed.

This was the first time one of us had talked to the other.

"What do we have?" I asked. The boat was a very expensive one, I was dumb for thinking that there wasn't a kitchen aboard.

"We have various fish, pasta, pre-prepared salads, cheeses, pizzas, and wines." He continued to list the various foods in the fridges and pantry.

All of it sounded appetizing. Even the foods I couldn't pronounce. However, I wanted something simple.

"I'll have some pasta. Do you want any?" I offered. I didn't want to be the only one eating.

"Yes, I would. I'll tell Chef Martin to prepare us some."

"No. I can make it." I countered. Even though I was surrounded by this wealth and had gotten used to the life my step-father lived, I wasn't so jaded that I let other people do the basic things for me.

Without waiting for his rebuttal, I got up and went to make the food.
