Chapter 6: Awaken

The Queen watched her son while he was recovering. She was happy she was reunited with him, but at the cost of a rebellion. She held his cheek. She wanted him to wake up.

"He's going be out for a couple of days."

The Queen looked up as she heard Valaine's voice. Princeton was also with her. She smiled a bit. She was happy to see him.

"I know it's hard to see your child like this." Valaine's said

"It is."

"My queen.... may I ask you something?" Princeton asked worriedly.

"Sure."

"Do you mind if I look after Mars?"

"Oh, Princeton not at all."

"I see you remember me."

"Of course. You help Mars and me a lot before the King cast you out."

"Well, I think we should get some air and let Princeton watch after Mars."

The Queen nodded and left with Valaine. Princeton sat next to Mars' bed. He heard someone walking towards the room. He looked up to see Corin. She was smoking her cigarette. Princeton and Corin were just staring at each other.

"How is he holding up?" Corin asked as she blew smoke out of her mouth.

"Fine. He exhausted all his power, so he was going to be out for a couple of days."

Corin chuckled. Her heels clicked as she walked closer to the assassin.

"You show his power, didn't you?"

"I did."

"You see how dangerous, he is?"

"He's not."

Corin chuckled and clicked her tongue.

"You are blinded. His power is too great. He must be in control."

"Just because he's the King's son doesn't mean he will be just like the King."

Corin slapped Princeton.

"Know your place dog. I know him more than you."

Corin walked out of the room. Princeton was angry but he dropped it. He turned his attention to the sleeping prince. He wished the prince would wake up. He grabbed the prince's hand and held it tightly.

Grim was walking around the hideout when he saw Princeton with the prince. He walked in.

"You haven't left this room in days."

Princeton didn't respond.

"You saw what he did when he fought Zero?"

"I did."

"Zero transformed too."

"I saw."

Grim grabbed Princeton's hand.

"Follow your heart."

After that Grim got up and left. Princeton looked up and saw Grim left, but Yoichi walked in.

"You are doing a great service to me."

"My Queen!"

Yoichi smiled.

"I remember you and him would always train together."

Princeton smiled a bit.

"Then you stood by him when he was sick."

"My queen, he just means a lot to me."

"You were always there for him."

"That's what a retainer does."

Yoichi grabbed Princeton's hand.

"I'm sorry the king kicked you out."

"It's not your fault."

She pulled him into a hug.

"I know your heart. I know you didn't sleep with the former Queen."

Princeton was shocked.

"H-how you know?"

"I knew for a while." She looked Princeton in his eyes. "He likes you too but give him some time."

"So, you made it."

"I did."

"When do we meet up?"

"In due time. He hasn't awakened yet."

"You are coming when he is up?"

"Yes."

"Fine."

"Good have you heard anything from our spy?"

"No, but he is recovering."

"I see."

"Is everything going to plan?"

"Yes."

Princeton was lying down when he felt the prince move. He looked up and saw the prince slowly open his eyes. He smiled softly. He grabbed the prince's hand. The prince wiped his eyes.

"P-Princeton?"

"Yes, my prince. It's me, Princeton."

"H-how long was I out?"

"Two weeks."

"Oh."

"You used all of your power," Princeton said quietly

"Damn."

Mars tried moving but Princeton stopped him.

"Rest up."

"I see you are awake my son."

Both Mars and Princeton looked at the door. The Queen was smiling from ear to ear.

"Mom..."

Yoichi rushed over to her son.

"I felt it in my heart when you awakened."

Both started to cry.

"I give you too time to talk." Princeton said

"No. All three of us needs to talk."
