Damien stood in the courtyard, anxiously waiting for Nathan. The moonlight cast long shadows across the stone, adding to the eerie atmosphere. Just then, Corin appeared, a smirk etched across her face, her double-sided spear gleaming ominously. They locked eyes, the tension between them palpable.
"I knew you guys' plan," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I didn't count on you turning on me."
Damien didn't respond, his gaze unwavering. He understood that this confrontation was inevitable, but he couldn't let her provoke him.
"Nathan won against Zander," Corin continued, her tone taunting. "But he passed out after the fight, so you have to do what you had planned to do by yourself."
"Corin, this isn't the way," Damien replied, trying to keep his voice steady. "We can still fix this. You don't have to follow this path."
Her laughter was cold and mocking. "Fix what? You mean stop me from claiming the power that's rightfully mine? I'll seize the throne for myself, and there's nothing you can do about it!"
"Power isn't about control!" he shot back, stepping closer, fists clenched. "It's about responsibility. You're not just hurting me; you're risking everything!"
With a sudden movement, she spun her spear, the metal slicing through the air with deadly precision. "You think you can stop me? I'm stronger than you know!"
Damien teleported just in time to avoid her lethal strike, reappearing behind her. "This isn't who you are, Corin! Remember what we used to fight for!"
Corin whirled around, her eyes blazing with fury. "Family? You think that matters now?" she spat. "I'll show you what true power is!"
Their weapons clashed as Damien blocked another attack, the impact reverberating through his body. "This isn't strength! You're inviting destruction upon us all!"
As they fought, the empty courtyard transformed into a battleground. Each exchange of blows was a desperate attempt to reach the sister he once knew, to pull her back from the brink.
"We can find a way to reach mom but taking throne isn't it!" he urged, dodging her relentless strikes. "You don't have to do this alone!"
For a brief moment, uncertainty flickered in her eyes, but it quickly hardened into determination. "I won't be stopped!" she screamed, channeling her metal manipulation to launch shards at him.
Damien teleported again, narrowly avoiding the onslaught. He could feel the weight of their shared past pressing down on him. "Corin, please! You're stronger than this! You're letting your ambition blind you!"
As the fight escalated, Damien fought not just against her but for the sister he desperately wanted to save. He had to reach her before it was too late.
"Together, we can bring honor back to our family! You don't have to turn against everything we believed in!" he pleaded.
But Corin tightened her grip on her spear, her resolve unyielding. "I will not fail! I am destined for greatness!"
With a final surge of energy, the battle raged on, the clash of metal and ideals echoing through the courtyard. Each sibling stood firm in their beliefs, locked in a struggle that would determine not just their fates, but the fate of their world.
The courtyard echoed with the sounds of battle, the clash of metal ringing out as Damien and Corin fought fiercely. But as the fight wore on, it became clear that Corin's determination was fueled by something darker. With a final, powerful thrust of her spear, she caught Damien off guard.
Corin's spear struck him hard, sending him sprawling to the ground. Pain radiated through his body, and as he struggled to rise, darkness crept into the edges of his vision.
Corin stood over him, her expression a mix of triumph and cold resolve. "You thought you could stop me? You were always too weak to understand what true power means," she said, her voice steady as she raised her spear.
With a last desperate effort, Damien tried to push himself up, but his body refused to respond. He could feel his consciousness fading, the courtyard blurring around him. "Corin... please," he whispered, the weight of their history pressing heavily on his heart. "Don't do this..."
She looked down at him, a flicker of something—regret?—crossing her face, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared. "I'm not the one who needs saving. I'm going to wait for Mars," she declared, her voice echoing with finality. "He'll soon realize that I'm the one destined to rule."
As Damien's eyes began to close, he saw her silhouette against the moonlight, a fierce warrior ready to claim her throne. "I won't let you down," she added, her voice cold and unyielding.
And with that, the darkness enveloped him completely, leaving only the sound of Corin's footsteps retreating into the night.
