Chapter 4:Secrets

 Yoichi was in the royal library. She always suspected her husband had secrets, ever since he kicked her son out of the kingdom. She knew some of the people who wrote things about the king. She found some books on the King and began reading.

"Yoichi wasn't the King's first wife. The King had 4 different wives before Yoichi, but the King had kids with only 3 of his wives. The King's first wife was loving and had the king stain. They had two kids, but they never had the king's power of fire. The King killed his first out of the rage of the kids not sharing the same powers as him but with his mother. Those kids were Corin and Mars. The King did love the first two children, but the king had a spell on them, but that spell was unknown."

The Queen didn't how to react. She thought for a long time Mars was her son. She was heartbroken and devastated. She loved him so much. She had to find more information and she continued reading.

"The King married his second wife. They didn't have children. She couldn't bear him a child, so he executed her. He met someone new and the relationship flourished. His third wife gave him a child and that child was named Damien. This child didn't have the king's power either. He killed the mother and cursed the child. The child was moved to another island and banned from coming back to the Blacknigan Isles. The King met his fourth wife, but that quickly ended, when that wife cheated on the King with a knight."

Yoichi was speechless. She knew she had to keep reading. Her hand was trembling when turning the page.

"The King meets his current wife Yoichi. She has the power of fire, but she heals. She gave the king his final child. This child didn't have the King's power, but he didn't kill his wife Yoichi. This child and his brand. When the King found out he was overjoyed but he noticed something with his first son. His first son also had the brand. He put the two boys together, and they started a mini fire even though they had different powers. The King banished his daughter and kept the two boys, but faked that Yoichi gave birth to his first son. The spell he put on the first-born son was an aging spell that kept him as an infant for a long time until he broke it. He told everyone his current gave birth to two boys and told everyone Zero was the firstborn. He didn't want people to know about the first-born son."

Yoichi cried she couldn't believe what she read, but she knew it was more. She quickly pulled herself together. She wanted to know more. She turned the page.

"Even though Mars is technically not Yoichi, he is technically her child. The King planted Mars in Yoichi right before she gave birth to Zero. She then gave birth to Mars hours later. The King knew if people found out they would be suspicious."

She reached the end of the book and grabbed the second one. She noticed that this book was titled "The King's first-born son."

"The King named the first-born son Mars. He knew his first son would be a good king one day. He did notice Mars did a lot of snoopy because he questioned some things. Mars questioned his powers and his family. The son knew something was wrong. That's when the King started to despise his son. Eventually, Mars learned the truth but didn't tell anything to show his father he was still loyal to him, but the king didn't care. He wanted everything he had done to be kept a secret. Even though he banished his first son, he still loves him."

Yoichi put that book aside to finish later. She noticed a particular book was sticking out like a sore thumb. His book was titled "The King's Madness."

She was about to open it when she heard someone walking around. She quickly hid the books. The footsteps were coming closer. The man turned the corner, and it was her husband, Lucius. She jumped, but her husband laughed a bit.

"I was looking for you."

"You know, you can always find me here," Yoichi replied with a chuckle.
