Chapter 8: First move

Jewel was patching Mars up. Jewel couldn't believe how badly Mars was hurt. He saw Mars suffered a broken chest cavity, broken ribs, bruises all over his body, and multiple broken bones.

"My prince you should be more careful."

"Yeah, I know, but I had to test him."

"Your mother and your plan are a bit much."

Princeton saw Jewel touching Mars. His blood started to boil. He walked in and went to the prince's bedside.

"Let me patch him up."

Jewel looked at Princeton and went back to bandaging up the prince.

"I said let me do it."

"No," Jewel replied.

They glared at each other.

"I'm done now."

"Of course."

Princeton rolled his eyes.

"Did you make a contract with her?"

"I did. She's on her way."

"Who?"

"I'll tell you later."

Nori and Nathan were walking around the town. Nori was telling Nathan about her training with Princeton. She learned a lot from him and learned how to control her emotions. Nathan wondered about the new form she had achieved. She couldn't explain it. As they continued their walk Nathan felt someone following them. He whispered to Nori. She was on guard.

Then entered a nearby shop, Nathan felt the person or people following them enter the shop as well. Looking around the shop, they heard people talking about the battle that took place last night. They noticed half the town was destroyed. The townspeople had their speculations about who was battling. They automatically thought of the town's protector Damien. The brother and sister were intrigued and wanted to learn more.

Nathan felt their follower was closer to them. He made she Nori was close to him. Nori felt the presence, but it didn't seem like a bad one. Nathan felt Nori was calm around the mysterious presence. They slowly turned around and saw a guy wearing an Oni mask. He was holding a flower. He didn't speak but he was gesturing the flower to Nori. She took the flower and smiled.

"Thank you."

The guy nodded and walked away.

"Wait can I have your name?" Nori called out.

The guy just ran away. Both Nathan and Nori were confused.

"I think we should head back to the hideout now."

"Yeah, we should."

"Long time no see."

"I know you have been watching me from afar."

"I have. You know I must protect you."

He chuckled a bit.

"You see me fighting for my life and you have yet to protect me."

"Well, we both know you can handle your own. I see no problem."

"You have a point."

"So why did you call me here?"

"I wanted to check on your mission."

"My mission is good. They won't suspect a thing, but I must warn you about something though."
