Gary just called and said the house is completed. He has checked all the lights and faucets. Everything is working as it should.
He placed everything as requested, and it looked beautiful. I thanked him and contacted the furniture store to schedule delivery.
I then walked into the living room, where my beautiful wife was reading a book. She looked over at me and smiled. She placed her bookmark in her book and closed it.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Well, my love, for one, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, and for two, we got some good news."
"Really, what would that be?"
"Our house is completed and ready for us to move in."
"Seriously? Can we go take a look at it finished?"
"Of course, we can. Now, remember you have a surprise that I want to show you, so don't be going around looking by yourself. I am going to get our handsome son, and we will head over." He kissed her and walked to Liam's room.
"Hey buddy, we need to get your shoes on."
"Why? I don't want to go anywhere."
"Because our house is ready and we will be moving in this week. I need you to inspect your room and make sure it is exactly what you wanted."
"Really? Yeah, Okay." He sat down, and Zed put his shoes on him. Then they walked into the living room, where Tessa was trying to get hers on. He laughed as she couldn't find the shoe with her foot and was getting frustrated.
"My love, it is my job to put the shoes on my princess." He bent down and held her leg; he slid her Tom on her foot and kissed her leg seductively.
"Thank you. I can't even see my feet. My knight in shining armor coming to rescue the princess."
"Don't forget my princess."
Liam laughed, "You guys are silly. Let's go, Mommy. Daddy says our new home is ready, and I am so excited to see it."
"Me too, baby boy, me too."
"Mommy, I'm not a baby anymore. I'm a big boy; she is the baby." He pointed to my stomach, and we both laughed. Zed ran his hand over Liam's hair, messing it up, and he said, "Daddy, stop messing my hair up."
We left and drove the ten minutes to our new house. The gate was closed, and Zed pushed the remote in the car. The gate opened he had the gate painted the same color as our house black.
I hadn't been here since before my father's funeral, and it looked so fancy. I was still amazed this was going to be our house.
Growing up, I had never dreamed I would be living in New York with my husband and son and a daughter on the way. Nor that I would ever live in a fancy house like this.
I thought I would live on the same street as my mother and Noah's parents. Our house would be as big as his parent's house and we would furnish it nicely.
This house is fancy, and it is my husband's own design. Gary asked Zed if he would sell them the design because he was sure other people would want a house like this. Zed told him he would think about it and let him know.
We walked up to the house, and Zed opened the door. It was so beautiful, like it took my breath away. I was smiling as we walked in and thinking to myself this is our home.
Liam was holding Zed's hand and mine between us. He was smiling; we walked into the kitchen. Rory smiled. She designed this room, and for her to see it finished made her so happy.
