Two and a half days later, we finally arrived at our new home at least for the next six months, maybe more.
I had slept for most of the road trip, and Zed kept asking me if I was okay. I told him I guess road trips just make me sleepy.
He laughed and said you didn't sleep the times we went to the cabins. I simply replied they were a couple of hours away, not days.
His brother and sister had rotated riding with us and his parents. If Stephanie rode with them, then Zander rode with us.
They had even helped drive. Zed changed seats and rode in the back with Liam even tho I told him I would get in the back.
He and Liam were playing, and I loved to see them bond. Stephanie looked over at me, watching them.
She smiled, "He's a great Dad, isn't he?"
"Yes, he really is. He loves our son more than anything."
"I don't know about that. I would say you and Liam are in pretty tight competition for my brother's love. Tessa, he is so in love with you. I can see it every time he looks at you, and so can everyone else."
"Well, I know he loves our son more, but as we both said when he was born, it was a different kind of love. I love that man too; he is my everything."
"I know, and so does everyone else. We can see the love you have for each other when you look at each other. I hope I find a man one day to look at me the way Zed looks at you."
"I'm sure you will. When Zed and I got together, I had been dating Hardin, well, not really dating, more like talking to Hardin."
"The hottie with the sexy accent."
"Yes. He was such a jerk. When we were together, he would be all sweet and romantic but then act like he didn't even know me if we were around his friends. That chick he's with, Molly, was sitting in his lap after we had been hanging out and kissing. I finally had enough of the fighting and crap with him. Zed asked me out on a date, which Hardin never took me on, and the rest is history."
"He's still infatuated with you. I kept seeing him watch you as you walked around and talked to people. I don't think she liked how he was watching you."
"Yeah, well, we had a lot of trouble out of him up until our baby shower."
"Oh, yeah, I remember that he was pissed, and then he and Zed fought."
"Yep, that was when we became friends again. Since then, tho, he has stayed in his lane and not mine."
"So, did you sleep with him? I bet he's good in bed."
"Um, no, we fooled around a little, but Zed is the only person I have been with."
"Really? I had no idea that Zed was the only person you have been with. That's cool, tho, that you married the only man you have slept with. Too bad he can't say the same." She laughed.
"I think it's a good thing that I wasn't his first and only. Zed slept with Hardin's girlfriend, Molly, before she and Hardin started dating; they were messing around. Zed slept with her before I came to CWU."
"Oh, that must be weird to be around her, knowing she slept with your husband."
"A little, but as long as she stays away from him now, I'm fine with it. I swear, sometimes I feel like she is remembering when she was with him."
"One thing about my brother you will never have to worry about is him cheating. He is a loyal person, and he would never risk his family."
"Thanks for that." I looked back again, and Zed and Liam were both passed out. Liam was holding his dad's hand; it was so cute. I snapped a photo, and then I fell asleep.
