Hey Stephen (Fearless - Taylor's Version)

Ever since she was little, Danielle's summer was the same every year. Nothings really ever changed. Not even the way she looked to everyone, or is she grew any taller. Her moods have always been the same as well. Yet, Dani's love for Steven Coklin, something that'll never change for any reason. Every single summer, her mother, Susannah Fisher, always invites her best friend, Laurel Park, to Fisher's beack house in Cousins beach for the summer.

Laurel brings along her kids, Belly and Steve. This makes Dani and her brothers summer a lot better. Danielle is the same age as Belly, born the same day as her bestie, and a year younger than Steven. Belly had always had her eyes on Dani's older brother, Conrad. She's all for support of her, because she's always had something for her older brother, Steven. Dani's crush on the boy started around the age of 8, or probably even before that.

She's never really known exactally why and how she started liking Steven, but she knows her crush was always there. One flaw is that Steven goes through multiple girls ever. single. summer. Everytime, Dani wishes she was one of the girls he hooks up with. She always thought she was the right fit for Steven. Even Susannah thinks they're good for each other.

Everyone in the Fisher family has thought of Dani as the 'simple' Fisher out of the three. Conrad was always doing his own thing ever since he was a kid. Jeremiah was usually hokking up with some random person. But Danielle, she would spend her summer nights in her room watching re-runs of 'GLEE' or watching 'Titanic' or 'Maze Runner' on repeat.

Or, she would be re-reading 'To All The Boys I loved Before" while listening to music, especially Taylor Swift, Tate Mccrae, Beabadoobe, or Stray Kids. Laurel would call her the 'predictable' Fisher because of her hatred for any type of change. The only person who really understood Danielle in depth was Conrad. This summer was going to be different for her though. She was born with light brown hair. Now, she dyed it a deep dark blue and cut in shorter into layers. She finally learned how to do makeup.

This summer was going to be it. It was going to be Danielle's summer.

Dani's brother, Jeremiah, bursted into her room without a warning.

"Dani! The Conklins are here!"

Dani smiled before she ran down the stairs and through the kitchen to the front door. Before walking through the door, she snuck a glance at everyone outside first. Belly was talking with Laurel in the car, Conrad was stepping towards them. Dani was specifically looking for the Conklin boy, Steven. When she found where he was, he was talking with her mother. She grabbed her sweatshirt and slipped it on. She walked out the door and tried to walk past Steven towards Belly. However, she felt an arm wrap around her wais preventing her from going any farther.

"Uh uh, princess. You know you can't walk away from me!" Steven said.
Danielle's favorite thing to do when she was younger was dress up like a princess. So, Steven would always call her 'princess.'

"Steven, you know I hate that nickname. Just call me something else."

"Oh, so 'Pinnochio'?" Steven chuckled before the girl playfully punched him.

"Hey, Steven."

"Hello, my Danielle Augustine Fisher." He pulled the girl into his embrace with a smile plastered on his face. He looked puzzled when he pulled out.

"What?" She questioned as she brushed the hair out of her face.

"Nothing, you just, look... different."

"Good or bad?"

"Auggie, you've never look bad in your life. It's just... you look older with all the makeup, and you're hair's blue, like 'Midnights' blue." Steven and Danielle chuckled at his Taylor Swift mention. "And it's shorter than last summer. But, you look really good. I really like it."

"Thanks, Stevie. I really appreciate it coming from you." The two smiled at each other for a moment before Susannah interupted.

"Dani, instead of flirting with your friend, how about you help put their bags in their room."

"Mom, I wasn't flirting. I'll help, but I'm leaving Stevens bag, I'm taking Belly's." Danielle walked towards where the female Conklin was.

"Oh jeze, Dani! You look gorgeous! Come, let's go inside so we can catch up." Typical Belly Conklin.

Danielle and Belly walk inside the beach house up to Bely's room with her bags. Danielle lays them on her bed as she grabs the stuffed animal, Junior Mint.

"Sit," Belly demanded.

Danielle sits on the floor while Belly sits on her bed.

Belly stares into Danielle's eyes before saying, "Steven is like, in love with you, girl."

Danielle laughs at the girl like she just told her a funny joke.

"Yeah, real funny, Bells."

"Dani, I'm serious. He's been talking about you all year. And only you. He's obviously obsessed! He told me that he wanted to win over sme girl this summer, dude, he's obviously talking about you."

"Thanks, but I'm sure it's not. Steven's never going to catch any type of feelings for me. He's not going to feel what I fel for him.

"Which is..?"

"Bells, I don't know. It's just some silly little crush. I've liked Steven since I was 8. This summer might just be my chance. Either it is, or it's nonw. Steven is a complicated person."

"Whatever, let me unpack now."

Danielle smiled before she walked out from Belly's room and walked to hers. She sat on her bed, with thoughts about who Steven's mystery girl might be. He tends to flit with numerous girls in Cousins, but it's not like he does with Danielle. Last summer was much more miserable for the two best friends. They had a big fallout. Maybe this year is if really going to be different. Maybe she could finally be with Steven. Susanah had always said that Cousins beach is the place where dreams of any kind can come true. Maybe, she's actually right this time.
