The following day, Danielle woke up late in the afternoon. She was up all night. It was probably the worst insomnia anyone will ever have. Danielle couldn't stop thinking about Steven words. Was he actually sorry this time?
Danielle walked downstairs to greet everyone before she wanted to hang in the pool.
"Hi, mommy." She said as she hugged her mother.
"Hello, dear. The boys went out to get some things for Belly and yours birthday next week. Belly's in her room with Taylor and Autumn. Go say hi."
Fuck, forgot about Autumn.
"Uh, I will. I'll see you later."
Danielle had compleatly forgotten that she had called Autumn the night before. Autumn is Danielle's best friend back in Boston. They were friends since Middle school, and tell each other everything. Autumn was there when Danielle's ex-best friend, Minnie, left her life. She knew about Danielle's crush on Steven snce the first time they met. She waas always there when Belly wasn't.
"Hey, guys."
"Dani, jesus christ. Uh, thanks for the talk Belly, but I think Danielle needs me right now."
Autumn pulled Danielle out of the room to the backyard. She sat her down on one of the pool chairs as Autumn sat right infront of her.
"Fucking hell, Dani. You scared the shit out of me. Anyways, why did you call? Why did you need me here?"
"Steven. He-. I was walking along the beach last night and he came up to me and tried to talk about last summer. He went on a sall rampage about it.
"Wait, back up. What did he do last summer, Dani."
"Oh, we... we just got into a minor fight. It was a little bad to the point where I left Cousins in the middle of summer to go back home 'cuz I couldn't stand being near him. That's why I ran out the day of my birthday."
"Dani, you're my best friend. You know that I know that's not what really happened. I don't want to presusre you, though. So, when you're ready to tell me the whole story, I'll be ready to listen."
"Okay,"
"But, why did you ask me to come?"
"Aut, I don't know honestly. I guess I just needed someone else to comfort me besides Steven and my brother."
Autumn smiled at the girl as she started to get up from her spot. "Well, if you need me at anytime, I'll be in Belly's room listening to her ranting about Cam."
Autumn walked back inside, to Belly's room. She didn't seem to be mad at Steven on the outside, but Danielle know she was pissed at the boy.
Danielle wondered if Autumn was jealous of her.
