"I literally hated every single second of that!" Danielle complained as she walked through the front door, throwing her bag on the couch and dropping herself on the other side.
"Come on, it wasn't all that bad." Steven pointed out. Jay walked behing the two. The three got home all together, but there was no one there that afternoon.
"Yeah, maybe because you CAN dance. Meanwhile, Jay was over here trying to keep me steady." She ssmiled and pointed to Jay, whom put on a fake smile after glaring at the back of Steven's head.
"Babe, I'm heading to your room real quick to get my phone and head to the restroom. I'll be back." Jay said as he kissed Danielle's temple and walked upstairs.
"Babe? Whatever, anyways, it's not that difficult to waltz, August." He reached out his arm and made her stand up from the couch. He then started playing music from his phone. Thankfully, it was from his everyday mix. Danielle really didn't want to listed to anything with soporific melodies or anything like that.
"Just, take my hand." She did as he said. "Foot front, food back. Foot front, foot back."
Danielle didn't dare to look him in the eye. It would hurt too much, 'cause she knew he wasn't going to be the one holding her like that. That she wasn't going to be the one close to him like that.
"Keep your chin up, kind of like you have a crown on your head."
They slowly began moving around the living room, still dancing, Danielle still clumsy as always.
Their movements and bodies were connecting with each others. Every inch, every dance was matching with his, like a puzzle piece.
"Go slow, steady pace. No rush." He spoke. Their bodies were soon getting closer to each other, wanting to feel a connection.
"Steven, we should-" For the second time this summer, their noses were touching. They stopped dancing.
"Ehem," A voice said. This made Steven and Danielle jump in their places. They pulled apart from each other
"Laurel and Susannah need help with canvas'. I'm heading home." Jay said with his bags. He sent Danielle a small smile, and glared at Steven before making his way out.
If Jay felt the tension between the two when he walked in, he really didn't show it.
