"Danielle!" The voice of a female brought Steven and Danielle back to reality. Steven let go of his girlfriend so they could see who it was. When they turned, that saw a running Hannie going towards the couple. She stopped in front of the two, panting after trying to find Danielle through the Country Club.
"First of all... why is this thing so big?" She said, heavily breathing as she tried to catch her breath. Steven and Danielle chuckled at Hannie as she finally caught her breath and went to hug ber best friend.
"Second of all, are you okay? The girls are worried about you. I'm worried. You scared us by just running out." Hannie said before hugging the girl once again. The two stayed like that for a minute before pulling out. Steven stepped to the side, letting Hanni and Danielle have their moment.
"I'll be okay. As long as I have you and the girls, and Steven, I think I'll be okay." She said, smiling at her best friend. Hannie smiled back.
"Well, you better be because I'm spending the rest of the summer with you!"
Danielle's smile grew wider after Hannie said that. "No way, really?"
Hannie nodded in response before talking again. "Yeah, turns out my dad got a job here not too long ago. So, I'm spending the rest of the summer at Cousins and heading back to Boston for the Fall semester."
The two squealed in excitment for the rest of the summer. Hannie would get to hang out with Danielle and Belly and they would all talk about boys and other stuff like that.
Hannie pulled Danielle for one final hug before smiling at her again. "I'll leave you and Steven to it, then. By the way, he even looks better than your ex." Hannie whispered the last part so only Danielle would hear it. Ultamitely, Steven was close enough to the two best friends to hear what Hanni said. He laughed and patted Hannie on the head as she walked back into the Country Club.
Steven walked back over to Danielle, wrapping his arms around the girl. She rested her head on his chest before looking up and smiling at him. He smiled down at her before leaning in and kissing the girl. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they stayed in that position for about a minute before the pulled out. The couple shared a short hug with each other before they made their way back into the country club, hopeful to finish the deb ball.

"Mom, you have to try. For us." Jeremiah's voice cracked as he said that. Susannah was on the couch, between Conrad and Jere. Danielle was sitting on the armchair that was near the fireplace, still in her debutant dress.
"I don't want to suffer, anymore. Chances are slight, nonexistent really." The Fisher mother was trying her absolute hardest to keep it together for her kids. "I can't go through that again. It was too hard the first time."
"Please, mom. You have to try."
"I just want to be me when I go. I just don't want you kids to be upset with me." She streached out her arms to Danielle, wanting to hold her duaghter.
She got up and sat in between her mother and Conrad. "We're not mad, mommy. It's just, it's really hard. We're not ready to let you go, yet."
Susannah wrapped her arms around Danielle as she leaned her head on her mother's shoulder. Susannah's right hand stroking her hair. "I'm always going to be here, in the house. Always. I want you to come and feel safe, like this house is... a big mom hug."
Danielle slightly sobbed before lifting her head from Susannah's shoulder and placing it onto Conrad's. He grabbed onto her hand and enlaced his fingers with his little sister's.
"You're wearing it." He softly said, smiling down at his sister.
She smiled back. "To live for it."
"For the hope of it all."
