Valentina

"Thank you so much." Crystal smiles appreciatively. Her and John had to cut their business trip short when they got an alert that a pipe had bursted at their home. She had called me frantic to see if I'd watch over Anna while her and John worked on fixing it since it's flooding their floors.

"Of course." I beam when an eleven month Anna is settled in my arms. "I'm glad to watch her."

Crystal looks riddled with anxiety as she hands me her baby bag. "I'll be back to get her as soon as I can. I promise. I just need to sort things out and John is going to try to quickly find a place for us to stay tonight."

"It's fine." I tell her, smiling when Anna snuggles closer to me in her sleep. "And if you can't find a place, we do have a spare room okay?"

She nods gratefully and gives me a tight hug. "Thank you so much Valentina. When it's all settled we can have a lunch or something?"

"Sounds perfect, now go save your house. I've got your baby."

When Crystal leaves with a kiss on Anna forehead I close the door behind her and make sure to lock it. It's still the early hours of the morning and Theo had just barely left for work so I take Anna to our bed and settle her right in the middle. I clear the bed of my blankets and make a boarder around the very edges of the mattress so she doesn't fall off so I can quickly freshen up.

When I've changed my outfit and done my hair I hear a small cry coming from my room making me pop my head out of the bathroom. "Hey baby." I coo looking at Anna who's stood to her knees and is now looking around my room curiously.

She looks over at me and sends me a grin that shows off a few new teeth. According to Crystal she has quite the vocabulary now. Anna lets out a squeal and tries lunging at me but falls to the bed with a giggle.

"Good morning." I laugh and approach the bed. I reach out for Anna who squeals and wraps her arms around her neck. Her little feet kick and hit my stomach. "Someone's happy."

Her vocabulary is a bunch of baby babbles that mean nothing but it's adorable. "You hungry?"

"Num nums!" She nods excitedly making me laugh. I quickly change her diaper and clothes and use a little water to brush out her hair before taking her over to the kitchen.

Together we make some banana pancakes and by together I mean me making the mix and cutting the bananas and Anna eating the bananas I placed on a small plate.

I cut up pancakes for Anna and plate my own. I place them at the table right next to each other and hold Anna in my arms as I feed her.

"Is it yummy Anna?"

"Um." She nods making me laugh.

The front door rattles and I hear the sound of a key entering the lock telling me that Theo has came home early.

"Amor?" Theo calls out. "Are you awake?"

"I'm the kitchen." I answer absentmindedly while making faces at Anna that are targeted at making her laugh.

I hear his shoes hit the floor with thuds as he walks towards the kitchen. "Oh hello." He says smiling when he sees Anna with a mouth full of pancakes.

"We're babysitting." I tell him as he sits next to me and takes a piece of pancake off my plate.

"Are we?" He muses, trying to steal more pancake from my plate. I let him of course since he seems to be hungry. "Hi Anna," he smiles earning a smile with squinted eyes from the baby. Theo laughs and places a kiss in between my neck and shoulder.
