You watched as the arrow soared through the air before hitting the target with a thud. The activity brought you a calmness in all the drama going on in your life, you and Áedán had been stuck here for almost three and a half years and what did you have to show for it? Another child possibly growing up without a father. You never hated Odin more.

Sighing you bent to pick up another arrow before repeating the process, watching as it hit its mark. Loosening another arrow you felt a wave of nausea hit you. 'Not again' you thought as you dropped your bow making your way back through the halls, hoping you reached your room in time.

Leaning back against the cool bathroom wall you closed your eyes trying to slow your breathing, hoping this was going to be the only one for today. It was your fault for having something sweet at breakfast, but you were craving the lemon tarts. A knock on the door made you scream at the shock of it, opening your eyes to see who had walked in you found a very sheepish looking Loki.

"I'm sorry I scared you."

You huffed. "What are you doing here?"

"I saw you run off, is everything ok?"

"Oh so now you care!" Closing your eyes, you couldn't deal with him right now.

"Of course I care!" Loki exclaimed, forgetting it was most likely your hormones making you angry today; that and the fact that you had both spent a week trying to do anything intimate only for your nausea to ruin the moment and the frustration was starting to get to the both of you causing a few fights.

"Your exact words to me were 'it's not mine', so excuse me for not wanting to believe you," you gritted out, trying to control the wave of nausea you felt rising up.

"Fine! Since 'you don't need me' I'll leave you alone." Loki threw his hands in the air in exasperation turning to leave.

You couldn't stop it anymore and leant back over the toilet. Just once you wanted a week where this didn't occur. Your frustration over it all caused you to burst into tears. You hated being sick and you hated the fact you were here, you just wanted to go home, the thought of home made you cry even harder. You felt a cool hand rub your back trying to soothe you.

"It's ok my love, I'm here."

"I can't do this anymore," you whined through your tears.

"Yes you can, you're strong."

"No I'm not, I'm just a weak stupid human."

"I don't think so," Loki said as he pulled you into his arms. Sitting back against the wall he held you in his lap while your tears ran their course, lightly rubbing a hand over your belly. "You are not weak or stupid, you are a Valkyrie. My Valkyrie. And our child is going to be strong, just like their mother." Loki smiled and placed a kiss on your head.

"I'm sorry," you sobbed.

"Hey." Loki cupped your cheek and made you look at him. "I love you."

You could only nod as more tears sprung up. "I feel like such an emotional wreck. I don't know what's wrong with me."

"There is nothing wrong with you." He wiped away a tear. "You are growing our child inside of you; you're allowed to be a little emotional." You could only give a half laugh half sob in response. Loki moved and stood with you in his arms. "Now darling, let's go take your mind off those spiralling thoughts of yours."

Managing to make it through almost another week of not being sick only because you avoided any trigger foods, you had given in that morning only to mentally kick yourself when it repeated on you. Walking into the hall for dinner that night you tried not to get your hopes up, Helena was not at the table. Getting confirmation from Thor that she was not going to be there you happily took your seat as Loki sat down next to you while Áedán sat on your other side talking to Sif. Looking at the food in front of you you could feel your stomach turn at the sight, any happiness you were feeling fading. Grabbing a roll you slowly picked at it hoping it would stay down.
