Knocking and walking back into your room Loki didn't expect to find you sitting on the floor still in your nightdress, crying. Thor told him you had sent Áedán with him to training but not this and you were fine when he left earlier that morning.
"Darling what's wrong?" Loki asked, making his way over and getting down on the floor next to you.
"Nothing fits!" you said through your tears, turning to look at him. "I can't hide it anymore, I'm too fat."
"I don't think you're fat."
"Well Helena does. She's done nothing but call me that all week." She seemed to go out of her way to make snide comments at you every day now since she couldn't physically touch you.
Taking a deep breath Loki counted to ten in his head, Helena was starting to push too far for his liking. "Well to me you are as beautiful as the day we met."
"You said I looked like a goldfish."
"A beautiful goldfish."
"You're just saying that so I stop crying," you sobbed out.
"No I'm not." Standing back up Loki bent down, picking you up like you weighed nothing. "Now couch or bed."
"Don't care," you pouted.
Loki walked towards the bed and placed you in it before getting in after, pulling you to him and holding you tight, one hand moving towards your belly to feel the baby move. It was honestly his favourite thing to do since he found out you were pregnant, any chance he got his hands were there so he could feel the tiny new life within.
"You are carrying our child, why would I not think you are beautiful?"
"Because." You gave a half-hearted shrug, "I look like a whale."
The further the pregnancy progressed the larger you got, it wasn't until the last month that the baby's frost giant genes decided they wanted to kick in and you swore you were bigger than you had been at term with Áedán. The fact the baby still had to remain a secret probably did not help and the last couple of weeks everything just felt too much. Loki tried to reassure you as best he could to counteract your insecurities but that nagging voice in the back of your mind kept telling you Loki hated how you looked now.
"I know your mind is thinking that, but remember I don't think that," Loki whispered, giving you a kiss on the back of your head. "Now, I have a free morning and I am spending it here with you. Ok?" He ran a hand across your belly as the baby kicked. You nodded as silent tears escaped.

You had to tell Áedán about the baby. It was only fair, plus it was getting to a point where he was asking questions, mostly because Loki couldn't keep his hands off of you. Like tonight. So after dinner you bit the bullet and told him, hoping he wouldn't go and blurt it out to everyone.
"Áedán, honey. Come sit with mum."
"Ok."
He climbed up onto your lap, well as best he could with your bump, wrapping your arms around him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"I have some news, but you have to promise to not tell anyone."
"We're going home?" Áedán asked excitedly, which earned an eye roll from Loki, he hated that you still brought it up.
"Not yet, baby," Giving him a kiss. "Something better. You're going to be a big brother."
"Really!" Áedán squealed, his eyes widening in delight.
"Yes really." You smiled at him.
"Thank you mummy." Áedán twisted on your lap to give you a big hug. "I'm going to be the best big brother and teach him how to fight!"
