Loki was still angry that Helena had tried to poison you, but because no one had seen her do it she managed to get away with it. According to Odin his word could not be trusted no matter how many times Loki had tried to get him to see reason. At least Áedán had not been harmed, Loki hated to think how you would have reacted had your son been and with how he felt about the both of you he'd be the one handing you the knife.

Eir (and Loki) had finally allowed you back to training but not even a day of finally being able to hold your sword again before the rain had other ideas and you were stuck back in your room staring at four walls again.

Startling awake one night you felt like you couldn't breathe. Trying to work out what was happening you felt someone move behind you as they startled, your eyes adjusted to the darkness finding Áedán was fast asleep in front of you while Loki's arms were wrapped around your middle, holding you tight. Managing to twist around you tried to wake him up without waking Áedán.

"Loki. Loki," you whispered, shaking his shoulder. "Loki, it's a dream. Loki, wake up."

His eyes snapped open and it took him a bit to realise where he was. "You," he rasped out in a voice still heavy with sleep.

"Yes, me." Reaching up to touch his cheek. "You had a bad dream."

"It was a dream?"

"Just a dream," you tried to reassure him.

"I thought I had lost you."

"I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere."

"I love you."

Before you could even respond his lips were on yours in a desperate kiss. Your senses were filled with him, his arms moved to try and pull you even closer as the kiss deepened, his mouth moved to your neck causing a moan to escape as a hand made its way down your side trying to lift the bottom of your nightdress up; hearing a tiny voice call out you both stilled your movements.

"Mummy."

You both looked at each other in wide eyed shock having forgotten Áedán was there in that moment. Loki let you go as you rolled over to resettle him.

"It's ok hun, mum's here." Getting him to lay back down. "It's still night time. Go back to sleep."

"I want a cuddle."

"Sure hun, come here."

You cuddled Áedán in close, getting him to eventually go back to sleep. Too frightened to move you laid on your side with your back to Loki while he just laid there staring at the ceiling. Somehow you both managed to fall asleep again in the silence that had followed.

If you thought last night was awkward, breakfast was even more so. Stiorra had only come in to drop a tray off before leaving with a knowing smile. The two of you ate in silence while Áedán babbled about what he wanted to do that afternoon. Getting up to get ready you handed Áedán his clothes while trying to get yours out.

"Áedán hun can you go get ready for me? I need to talk to your mother."

"Ok." You heard Áedán say and walk into the bathroom as you turned around to see what Loki wanted, not expecting to find yourself now pinned against the cupboard as he stood very close to you one hand on your hip the other on the door beside your head.

"I'd like to continue our conversation from last night," Loki whispered softly.

"Why?"

"We were interrupted."

"We were." You gave him a coy smile.

Loki took a deep breath in and rested his forehead on yours.

"Did you mean what you said?" you asked.
