That night at dinner everyone was silent. Dylan made a deal with the devil, or at least Drew thought so. Emma was still worried about Leila and Leila, well, Leila tried to keep everything as normal as she could. But it wasn't normal, none of this was.

-"So, how's Angela?" -Julian interrupted the silence making Drew put down his fork and knife in anger looking at him. How dare he, Drew thought clenching his jaw. But Julian half smiled sipping on his drink.

-"Devistated." -Emma said holding on to Drews hand as in stopping him from putting the bullet right in Julians head.

-"And the boy?" -Julian continued.

-"Missing his father." -Dylan said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin staring at Julian, the hatered was visiable.

-"I could imagine. I grew up without my dad. It wasn't an easy childhood for a young boy. Raised by my mother who worked two jobs to provide for us...hell, you could say I grew up without her too." -Julian said, not a single sight of emotion on his face.

Leila looked at him in surprise. It was the first time he said anything about himself that was this personal. And then she thought about how she lived with this guy for the last six months and yet she doesn't know anything about him. And they were supposed to get marrried. The mixed feelings inside her tangled up even more.

-"Should we feel sorry for you now?" -Drew mockingly asked.

Julian smirked. -"Never needed anyones sympathy. It made me the man I'm today."

-"Oh, so your proud of what you've become?" -Drew continued to provoke.

-"Are you?" -Julian countered back. Although Drew wasn't initially a part of Bates family, Julian did heard of him.

-"It's funny to me how you're all sitting here acting like I'm the bad guy and you're all so full of morale..." -Julian said looking at them all, pausing on Carmen for a second before turning back to Dylan. -..."but we all know that neither of us are good people. Good, honest men get killed quickly. With Jason as the exception, of course." -Julian smirked and that made Drew stood up from the table angirly.

-"Drew." -Dylan calmly said. -"He aint worth it." -he continued as he looked at Leila.

Julian found it all amusing. Drews reaction didn't made him move a muscle.

-"The dogs must bite hard down in Brooklyn." -he said jokingly as he watched Drew sitting down again. But to his surprise, Emma appeared right behind him holding a gun against his head, ready to shoot at any moment.

-"The cats aint that fun either." -she said.

-"Enough!" -Dylan shouted. -"Emma sit down." -he ordered and she was already sitting down next to Drew who was watching her proudly.

-"We've made a deal, we're not friends and we'll never be. Don't think for a second that I'll not put a bullet into your skull if you ever provoke it." -Dylan's demeanor was calm, but his words were firm and dangerous. He reminded Leila of Jason. She didn't like this side of him.

-"Yes...about that..." -Julian started, not even a slight of fear on his face. -"The last I heard, her father was dealing with some Belfast guys down in San Diego." -he said as he looked at Leila.

-"Can you get in contact with him?" -Dylan asked.

-"Of course...but he mustn't know that you're here. You need to keep a low profile. No going out making all of the commotion on the streets..." -Julian warned now looking at Drew.

-"And to tell you the truth, the west isn't happy 'bout you coming here. Last time Bates was here the chaos reigned. There are many men that'd like to see you dead." -Julian explained before he said: -"You're under my protection, of course." -he smirked. -"but not even I can protect you from Reins cockroaches all over the city."

-"We don't need protection. If we want, we can burn all of the west to the ground and take over." -Drew didn't even hesitate to say.

-"That may be so...but it would start an even greater war and I promise you, many innocent lives will suffer." -Julian looked at Leila who was silent the whole night.

-"So what do you propose?" -Dylan asked.

-"We'll go to San Diego. There is a car race to be held tomorrow night down there. I know for a fact that John will be there. We'll enter the race." -Julian smirked before looking at Dylan. -"I'm sure you know how to hold on a gas pedal."

Dylan was intrigued. He remembered all of the cars inside Hart's garage. He found him working on one of them. Then he figured, the bastarad already had this planned out before even making a deal with him.

-"Why race if we can easily just find him and kill him?" -Drew asked.

Julian laughed. -"You think it'd be that easy?"

-"We'll use the element of surprise against him. He'll not see us coming. The security around him will be enormous. You're in California, remember? John Reins is a king here." -Julian explained. -"So we'll get into the race like a competitors and just at the finish line he'll be waiting to see the winner. That'll be our moment to strike."

-"So...we enter the race and one of us needs to win it also?" -Drew asked.

-"Yes...I'm afraid so...and it won't be easy. Reins got his money in this. He'll do anything to stop us." -Julian explained.

-"How would I know that you're not going to break our deal and side with Reins at the end?" -Dylan asked.

-"Because....-Julian smirked again...-"we'll make a trade....I give you something I care about for something of yours..." -he said and everyone frowned.

Then he laughed like a psycho. -"It's obvious my friend...I'll be in a car with..." -he pointed trying to remember the name...-"ah...Carmen over there,...and you'll be taking Leila."

Dylan and Leila looked at eachother for a moment before turning back to Julian.

-"I'll let you pick a car tomorrow." -Julian said as he stood up from the table. -"My fiancée is very tired, I presume," -he provoked looking at Leila..-"should we call it a night?"

She just stood up from the table and followed behind him without saying anything.

-"My God she's miserable." -Emma commented just as Julian and Leila left the room.

-"Are you really trusting this asshole?" -Drew asked Dylan.

-"Of course I'm not, but he's our only way to Reins." -Dylan explained again.

-"It's like she's been brainwashed, I can't believe it.." -Emma was still thinking about Leila.

-"Are we really going to race?" -Carmen was terrified.

-"Hey...hey..."-Dylan put both of his hands on her face calming her down looking directly into her eyes.... -"I'll not let anything bad happen to you, I promise." -he said and she nodded.

-"Right...I'm going for a smoke." -Drew got up from the table.

As Dylan walked towards the guest room that's been given to him and Carmen, he bumped into Leila.

He still couldn't believe that she was here living with this guy. He looked at her judgingly, as if he doesn't even know her anymore, a slight of disgust on his face. And she noticed it.

-"Dylan...I..." -she started but he interrupted her, raising his hand dissmisingly. He didn't have the patience nor the heart to hear her explanation.

-"I don't even recognize you anymore. The more I think about it, you know...-he thought about his next sentance for a moment...-"you've died that night in Costa Rica." -he said and the words pierced through her heart.

Then he half smiled cynically. -"Maybe I should crash us both dead tommorow night and be done with this." - he said as he walked away from her, hearing her yell behind him:

"I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
