That night over dinner Jason came up with the new plan for the Cartel.
He took into consideration Leila's suggestion and thought about it before he concluded that she was right.
Leila surprised him. And in the good way. Dylan would dissgree with that, but Jason was always the one who was trying to see the bigger picture.
She was the only one in his absence that made all the right decisions, though she would never admit on making them. But he knew she did.
Dlyan was great with keeping everyone alive and safe, but Leila...she rationalized and made the best out of her situation.
She was brave. To protect them all at the cost of their hatered towards her.
No, Dylan didn't turn into him. It was Leila.
-"So you suggest that we just leave the West for them to grab on?" -Dylan was in disbelief.
-"No. What he's suggesting is that we leave the West to come to us." -Leila explained instead of Jason who just nodded his head and looked at Dylan.
-"I already thought about it this afternoon and I think it's better this way." -Drew agreed and Dylan felt betrayed.
-"So everyone knew before me?" -he asked.
-"You really think it's a great idea to have that kind of danger knocking on our doors? Jax is only a child, there are so many innocent lives we must protect here...I...." -Emma started and Drew grabbed her hand in his trying to calm her down.
-"We thought about it, and we can protect you the most in our own territory." -Drew explained.
-"I still think that we don't have to fight them at all." -Angie crossed her arms, still angry at her husband and sister.
-"Ok princess..."-Melanie called her out. -"And what's for dinner in the fairy-land?" -she couldn't believe that someone who grew up in that world would be this naive.
-"I can see that you're all divided and opinionated so I'll spare you the trouble of thinking. I didn't ask for your approval. I've made my decision and I'm letting you know about it." -Jason was back to being the boss.
Angie threw her napkin on the table and left the room. Dylan looked at his friend and followed behind her.
Jason looked at Leila who gave him a small nod of agreement. It was the best for everyone, they can be mad if they want but they'll remain alive.
-"I'm not saying I don't agree, but this kind of talk would put everyone off." -Emma said.
-"It's not a democracy Emma. Jason is the one who kept us alive." -Leila replied immediately.
-"No." -Jason said. -"It was you. And they never thanked you for that."
She was too surprised to speak. It was the first time in a long time she felt like someone understands her. Her sacrifice was major. She gladly put her happiness aside for the people she loved losing herself in the process and all she got back was judgement.
She immediately thought about Dylan. It didn't take him long until he jumped into other girls bed and forgot all about her dissappearence. And when he finally found her, he was so disgusted by her that he made her poison herself to oblivion with alcohol and self hatered.
It took Jason's coming back to life for her to realize that she didn't do anything wrong for doing everything she could to survive. And to keep them all safe.
-"Well, when you put it that way I see it." -Miles interrupted the silence. He looked at Leila with the compassion on his face. -"You did everything you could and more. It's time for you to stop blaming yourself and for us to apologize." -he said to her.
