The gang was walking through a stone brick like tunnel, lanterns illuminating the walls.
"The City of Mistral..." Qrow remarked.
"Ugh! It's about time!" Nora said.
"Took the words right out of me," Johnny said "Why can't we take a car?"
"Mistral isn't like Vale, so bringing a car here wouldn't be a good idea," Ren said.
"Figures," V said.
"Hey Johnny, i've noticed that the gun you use isn't the exact replica of your gun V has," Ruby asked.
"Yeah, don't know it either, maybe being in V's head made my gun change," Johnny shrugged.
"Interesting..." Ruby mused, looking at V with curiosity.
It was true that ever since V and Johnny had shared a mind, they seemed to have developed a strange connection.
"Hey, don't look at me," V said, "I'm just the gonk who put the biochip in my head."
Pyrrha giggled at V's response. "You know, to think when we met V we met Johnny too, yet we couldn't see or hear him but now he has a physical body and a gun that's different from V's. It's quite the mystery," Pyrrha remarked.
"coming from a young champion fighter, that's high praise." Jaune smiled at Pyrrha. "It's not every day you find such an interesting company on a mission."
V chuckled. "Yeah, well, if you think our little group is weird now, a weapon enthusiast, a knight, a champion, a hammer girl, a ninja, a cybernetic merc, a dead night city legend, and a rogue huntsman."
"Weirder things have happened," Qrow said with a smirk as he led the group through the tunnel.
They soon reached the end of the tunnel, pushed the door to the sides, to reveal Mistral in its glory.
Ruby instantly ran out to get a better view of Mistral, which V and Johnny joined in, to its buildings on hillsides with colorful rooftops glistening under the midday sun. Mistral was a bustling city, filled with merchants selling exotic goods, performers entertaining passersby with graceful dances and mesmerizing music, and people from all walks of life going about their daily business.
As Ruby, V, and Johnny marveled at the sight before them, V noticed a group of Maelstorm boys running by from below.
they're red cybernetic eyes were a dead giveaway that they were up to no good. Sensing trouble, V turned to the group and said, "We need to be careful. seems Mistral is going to have a fun time with Maelstrom roaming."
"maelstrom? the gang from Night city?" Jaune questioned, looking concerned.
V nodded grimly. "Yes, they seem to have expanded their operations to Mistral now. We'll need to keep an eye out for any trouble."
Qrow, ever the vigilant huntsman, scanned their surroundings with a steely gaze. "Let's stick together and make our way through the city cautiously. The last thing we need is to get caught up in Maelstrom's mess."
The group nodded in agreement and proceeded to head to Haven academy, keeping a watchful eye out for any signs of trouble.
They soon arrived at Haven, walking in the campus of the school, where Johnny gazed at the fancy Japanese roofing, intricate designs catching his eye.
"Can there be any world where no place looks like Arasaka?" V muttered under his breath, recalling the corporate monolith that loomed over Night City in his memories.
"still at it with Arasaka?" Ren asked.
V shook his head. "It's hard to forget a place like that, Ren. But Mistral seems like a world away from Night City, at least on the surface."
