It was the day after the Mistral Academy battle; Lionheart was arrested, the relic was secured, and the team was finally able to rest and regroup. Sadly, the nomads bid the group a good farewell, leaving Remnant and returning to Night City to live out their days in peace and harmony. Kerry, on the other hand, decided to stay with the V and his friends in order to continue the fight against Salem.
Meanwhile, V, Johnny, and Kerry sat outside in the back of the house, chatting about what happened before they reunited.
"So you guys fought a giant Grimm horse and a horseman?" Kerry asked.
V nodded in response. "Yeah, it was intense. But we managed to defeat them with teamwork and determination."
Johnny chimed in, "It was a close call, but we pulled through. Now we just have to stay vigilant for whatever Salem throws at us next."
"Salem?" Kerry said, unsure of what they were referring to.
"Right, Salem is the leader of the Grimm, a powerful enemy we've been facing for a while now," V explained.
"You got a picture of her by chance?" Kerry asked.
"Unfortunately, no, we've seen an illusion of her but never the real thing," V replied.
"She looks like a ghost with the pale white skin and blood like lines coming from her eyes; it gives me the chills just thinking about it," Johnny added.
"Geez," Kerry said, feeling a shiver run down his spine.
"Don't sweat; with your semblance, you can become a hunstman like me," V said.
"By the way, what is your semblance, Kerry?" Johnny asked.
"I can create replicas of arm implants that can be used as weapons," Kerry replied.
"Which ones?" V asked.
"Mantis blades, gorilla arms, and the projectile launcher," Kerry answered.
"Mantis blades, gorilla arms, and the projectile launcher." V said, repeating the list. "But you're missing the monowire," V added.
"I've tried to create one, but it refuses to materialize," Kerry admitted.
"guess you're still a rookie," Johnny remarked with a smirk on his face.
"But I've trained before the battle of the academy," Kerry stated confidently.
"Training is not enough to make up for experience," Johnny replied.
"You have to kill a grimm before you can truly call yourself a huntsman," V added.
"what!?" Kerry exclaimed, "I've dealt with corrupted faunus, but monsters are a whole different level."
"That's where your aura and semblance come into play," V continued. "Your aura will shield you from attacks, and your semblance will give you an edge in combat."
"But I only have a pistol," Kerry said.
"I got that covered; after the battle, I did some looting and found a number of guns, melee weapons, and ammunition," V replied with a smirk.
"Well, thank you for that," Kerry replied gratefully. "But aren't those remnant weapons not going to function like the ones in Night City?"
V paused for a moment, then said, "There may be some that function as both a gun and a melee weapon, but it's hard to say for sure without testing them out first."
"Forgetting they need dust to work? They don't use the same bullets as your guns do," Johnny remarked.
V groaned and replied, "I knew that. Just... Night City and Remnant are completely different worlds; I've just been using Night City logic in a Remnant setting."
