chapter 16: school problems P1

In Mistral V, Johnny, Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren, Ruby, Yang, Weiss, Oscar, and Qrow were heading to Haven Academy to talk to Lionheart.

"Great, back to school," Johnny said sarcastically.

"Guess you'll have to participate now that you can appear out of my head," V said calmly.

"I'm a rockstar! I didn't even finish high school," Johnny replied.

"You taught yourself how to play the guitar?" Ren asked.

"Of fucking course I did," Johnny said, rolling his eyes. "You think I became a rockstar by following the rules?"

"He is a rebel who does things his own way," Yang said with a smile.

"Hey, as long as he can play, who cares how he learned?" Nora chimed in.

"Exactly. Music is all about passion and talent," Weiss added, nodding in agreement.

"Really?" Oscar said that he had no idea who Johnny was or where he had come from.

The group soon entered the academy, whereupon they were greeted by Lionheart standing on the top of the first level of the grand stairs.

"Why hello. Thank you for coming," Lionheart said nervously. "There seems to be more of you than last time."

"Eh, you know what they say: "The more, the merrier." So what's going on with the council?" Qrow asked.

"Why... did you bring your weapons?" Lionheart said.

"What? Leo, we're huntsmen. You okay?" Qrow said, confused.

"Of course! Of course, sorry. I just haven't had my evening coffee," Lionheart said.

V, however, was growing increasingly suspicious of Lionheart's behavior, so he spoke up, "Lionheart, that doesn't sound like you forgot coffee, more like you forgot something else."

Lionheart's hands began to shake slightly as he tried to come up with a response. "I... I just have a lot on my mind lately," he stammered. V narrowed his eyes, unconvinced by Lionheart's explanation.

"Like copying the map off Qrow's scroll?" Johnny added.

Lionheart's eyes widened in shock as the group's suspicions grew stronger. "I don't know what you're talking about," he stuttered, his voice betraying his guilt.

Johnny smirked, knowing they were onto something big. "really? You should have expected us to come over with our weapons on our backs, but you asked why we had them on us in the first place," he replied, his eyes narrowing.

Lionheart was at a loss for words, unsure how to respond.

"As we expected," V said, "you're planning to backstab us."

"V?" Qrow couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Are you saying that Lionheart is working with Salem and betraying us?"

Just then they heard the words, "mom?" from Yang.

The group looked to see a raven perched on a second floor rail, where Qrow shot at it, but he missed it.

The bird then flew down behind Lionheart, transforming into Raven and wearing her mask.

"Raven..." Ruby murmured.

"They... they really are magic..." Nora said it in fear.

"Well, if it ain't the queen of thieves," Johnny said with a smirk, "we never thought you of all would be here."

Raven then took her mask off and spoke, "And I expected to see you and V to be here."

"You know her?" Yang asked.
