chapter 19: class dismissed

Outside, the battle was coming close to an end; white fang members were getting arrested, while Tyger claws were retreating in disarray.

"fall back!" Razor commanded his men to the getaway spot.

Soon they got in motorbikes and cars and sped off into the night, leaving chaos in their wake. The police sirens blared in the distance as they pursued the fleeing criminals, determined to bring them to justice.

"I'm going to make you regret ever coming back..." Adam threatened to be overcome by tiredness.

"More police are on their way; the tyger claws have left you, Adam; you're on your own now," Blake said.

Adam chuckled evilly. "You're still too afraid to face me on your own."

"I'm here for Haven, not you," Blake said.

Angered, Adam then pointed his sword-built gun, while Blake drew her weapon.

"Heh, you are still afraid, and you should be. I've made powerful friends while you've been away," Adam mocked.

"You don't get it, do you?" Panam said as she, Kerry, and Sun joined in.

"You lost Adam, and now you're just a desperate man clinging to false power," Kerry spoke.

Adam soon pointed his sword at the three and spoke, "Tell me, does Blake make all of her classmates fight for her?"

"We're nomads; given a job, we do it," Panam replied calmly.

"So drop the act and hand yourself in," Kerry said.

Adam soon looked around, seeing his followers surrendering to the overwhelming numbers of forces Blake brought with her. Suddenly, a searchlight shone down on him.

"You can try and make me regret coming here, Adam, but honestly, I've got more important things to deal with," Blake said.

Adam then lets out a frustrated growl and swings his sword at the group. Kerry created gorilla arms and parried his swing, followed by Blake swinging her sword at Adam before he blocked it.

Adam soon bolted out of the area, making Sun chase after him, but Blake called out to him.

"Sun, wait!" Blake called out.

"But he's getting away! We could take him!" Sun protested.

"The law will get him, so leave him to run like a coward," Panam said.

"Besides, now he can see what it feels like to run away," Blake said.

Meanwhile, inside, everyone was having difficulty dealing with Emerald, Mercury, and especially Hazel.

"You guys okay?" Jaune asked as he was using his shield to block gun fire.

Both Ren and Nora were consumed by exhaustion.

"Surviving," Ren said.

"I don't know how that big guy is still standing. He recharges his aura faster than I've ever seen!" Nora said.

"He's too strong!" Pyrrha said this in cover shooting.

Just then, Qrow, in his bird form, flew in before transforming back into his usual self.

"He's sheer willpower," he said.

Soon Johnny got thrown back, hitting the ground, but later glitched back on his feet.

"Bastard is like a juggernaut," Johnny said. "Those crystals in his arms seem to be the source of his power."

"Why don't you get them?" Qrow asked.
